Cody's attention is very quickly turned away from Blayre after his own words. Another wolf was dangerously close, and his smell was not that of a wolf from Aurora. Cody's muscular body lunges itself in front of Blayre as the wolf finally arrives and begins to speak. Cody's ears paint themselves onto his white skull and lips curl up in a snarl. His black leg stances forward to grip the ground. It was all happening so fast. The presence of another wolf was near now, but this scent he did not take in. Instead, he focused on this wolf now. His eyes widen at his words. Was he blind? Did he not see that Cody was protecting her? Besides, his way of words did not sound like one of an Aurora Wolf. Cody stops for a moment, fierceness still in his eyes as he stands straight and ears go back to their regular position. He wasn't here to hurt Blayre, which was his first concern. "I'm helping her.... and I won't leave without speaking to-" his words are cut off as another voice, another smell, another wolf joins them.
Cody's angry eyes cool instantly and his face and expression is back to that soft, warm look that he has carried his whole life with him anywhere he went. It was Zig, his friend. Since he had last seen her, there had been no warmth between them. He wondered if she really hated him so much. "Blayre... Zig and I are old, old friends." he whispers to her, his tone indicating that no romantic events existed between himself and Zig in the past. Cody looks at Blayre with soft eyes and offers a small smile, hoping she understood a little now of who he was. Besides, if it still made no sense to her, he would surely fully tell her everything soon. His face turns back to Zig. He had completely missed the words that Zig had spat out to the wolf named Aindreas. Now, Zig angrily walked between himself and Blayre... but embedded within the light push he felt something he was not expecting... a loving touch? The feeling catches him off guard, but he quickly returns the soft touch to his dear friend. He missed her. He didn't know quite what to think of her. She had always been just a friend, but he knew to her, things were different. . Blayre. Could she be Zig's daughter? Yes, he was certain of it. It shocked Cody. His cold blue eyes widen as he looks to the two standing so close to himself.
Next, it is Cody who is scolded with a low voice by Zig. Her words make his ears twitch lightly at the thought. Well, he had meant to stay on the borders, but then the incident occurred. He swallows hard, his eyes looking directly at her with an apologetic sense. It wasn't the comment about Kalgalath that had bothered him, it was her comment of making her worry. His head tilts lightly as he is about to speak, but just then, he feels a small lick to his cheek, which leaves his mouth half open, and his eyes shake and shine lightly. Her words made him relax for a second, before offering Zig a very soft smile. Cody, by now, didn't know how all these things could be going on at the same time and so fast. Within a second, Aindreas responds to Zig. Cody's body stiffens and the coldness and harshness returns to his face. This wolf... he was playing some weird voice game. He sounded as if he respected Zig but his words were harsher than he expected. Cody doesn't threaten the other wolf, only stands there watching the scene unfold, until his attention is taken by another wolf.
Cody's muscular frame stands. The events happening so fast had made Cody miss the new wolf arriving, this time someone whom he had only heard about but never met. Kalgalath. He seemed to support Aindrea's words, which shook a thought in Cody's head. This must be Zig's mate, but why was he acting so... cold towards her. Kalgalath addresses Blayre first. Cody knows... he wants her away from here. Trouble was sure to come. Cody's gaze softens for one more moment as he looks to Blayre. He hopes to speak to her again.. at least to explain everything. After his gaze, he turns, within a moment, cold. Kalgalath knew who he was. He wasn't exactly sure, though, how much of him he knew. His next word, aimed at Zig, shock Cody. He wasn't entirely sure what was going on... was Kalgalath so clingy he didn't want Zig to have her friend around? Out of her life? Cody would never leave Zig entirely. He'd always have her in his heart, for it was her whom he had grown most close to in the past.
Kalgalath's words immediately bring anger into Cody's body. Kal may be the alpha, but he was not the god of these lands. His threat only angered Cody ever more. Cody ignores the words that come after, aimed towards zig, as his voice roughly responds to Kalgalath. "No. I've been a member of this pack longer than you Kalgalath. I know what this land has gone through, the wolves that have come and gone, the problems we have had. I can't say it was right for me to leave, but I've always been loyal to this land and the wolves within. If you think you can get rid of me with a threat, think again. Leave Zig alone." Cody's voice had always been a soft, smooth tenor, but now it was embedded with roughness and hatred. Cody could not believe an alpha of these beloved lands would behave this way. He found it unacceptable. Aurora had always been, in a way, a sanctuary for those forgotten, a safe haven. Cody never wanted that sense of the land to disappear.
"I helped your daughter. You think this is the way to say thank you to someone for that? Or would you have rather me leave her there, alone, unprotected, and in pain." Cody spits out again. From the sound of it, Kalgalath would have rather that happened. Kalgalath had never met Cody and yet he was throwing hateful words and threats to Cody. It was something Cody couldn't stand. The hair on Cody's body stood stiff from anger, his eyes cold and full of hatred.
