aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Blayre had meekly agreed to leave the unpleasant scene, but soon after she had run off, and Aindreas, though he could have easily tracked her down, allowed her to run. She would not, anytime soon, seek out danger seeing as the memory of the stag attacking her would stay with her for a while, as would the pain of the injury. The ess was young, and after what she just witnessed, she no doubt would need time to herself. So while he awaited her return, he merely stayed near to the border, watching the ever changing current of the river that ran through the middle of the terra. The ripples that were caused by even the slightest disturbance to the surface was highly amusing, as was the way the river never took the same exact course… always was it different. Fluid. Dynamic. Even when he placed larger stones in the center, it discovered a way to get around the obstacle… or through the cracks… or over it.

It did not take long for his sister to return, her scent brought to him upon the breeze of the wind just before her vocals reached his auds, words but a whisper. Had the wind not be favorable, he doubted whether he would have been able to either smell her or hear her. Rising from his haunches, he shook out his pelt just as the metallic sting of blood came, intertwined with her scent. Her motions must have pulled at the edge of her fresh wound, pulling at the clot that was holding her flesh together. Immediately, he leapt into a lope, not rushing to meet her, but not dillydallying either. He had no desire for her to be alone for longer than needed.

It was perhaps just a few minutes before he emerged from the dense shrubbery, his little sister lifting her injured limb. “Hello Blayre, how is your limb? Hellene will be along shortly to help with the pain…” In the time she had been gone, he had tracked down Hellene. She did not know of him and had almost attacked him, wasting no time in lunging for his throat. Had he been slow, she would have had her jaws around his jugular and he would have been at her mercy. He had made the mistake of approaching her while she was in her den… with her pups. His vocals had swiftly explained who he was and his purpose in seeking her out and she had promised him that she would come as soon as she had settled her pups and found the necessary herbs. She had growled at him when he left, warning him to never approach her den silently again, causing a chuckle to leave his mouth… she was quite the feisty one.
