A pirate flag and
The Lost Islands

A pirate flag and an island girl

The perlino mare elevates her delicate crown, crystal blue eyes scan the forest before her. A sigh escapes her lips as they fall upon a familiar landmark, the lake. Quietly, and gracefully she glides across the damp leaves on the earth, they muffle the sound of her hooves. A cold gust of wind tosses her pearly mane off of her curved nape, she braces herself against the wind. Soon winter would be upon them, each day grew shorter and the nights longer and cooler. She supposed that it was not nearly as cold here on Luthien as it was on the northern most islands, which was why she was glad to call the Forest her home. As her hooves touch the shore of the lake, she can not help but gaze down into her reflection. The horse that stared back at her seemed, older, maybe a bit wiser. Yet there was still a youthful gleam in her crystal blue eyes. She gives a lopsided smile, before she reaches her front hoof out to strike the water. A splash, and than a series of ripples scatter across the surface of the water.

She drops her pink muzzle to the water's surface, sucking in the sweet waters that the lake provided for the inhabitants of the Forest. As her slurping ensues, she almost giggles at the tickle of her whiskers. She lifts her delicate crown, the water dribbling from her mouth, down her chin, and it drips back into the lake. With a content sigh, she pivots from the water's edge. Her hooves suck in the mud, she pulls them out carefully, before venturing back into the forest's thicket in search of a clearing. Cae did not have to wander far, before stumbling on a quiet clearing.

Hungrily she finds the succulent grasses that were safely hidden away in this clearing, that apparently none ventured to. Her teeth click with each bite, and soon the only sound the perlino hears is the sound of her own teeth chewing the grasses. She lets her mind wander, onto so many things, like Lyden. She had not seen him in some time, she was even beginning to worry for him. She understood that he had others to attend to, so she has quietly when about her own way for a few weeks now. Sometimes she enjoyed the quiet. Sometimes.
