A pirate flag and
The Lost Islands

A pirate flag and an island girl

Pink lips push the crunchy leaves away from the tender shoots of grass that the leaves so greedily concealed. Her blunt incisors pull the green grasses from the dirt, sometimes having to shake the few clumps of dirt that clung to their roots. She chews the grasses, enjoying the sweet taste that flooded her mouth. As the afternoon wore on, she continues to graze quietly, enjoying this solitary moment until she had to head back to the herd for the night. Ever since Lyden had been attacked by the wolves, they all gathered for the night hours. All of them were on high alert, any snap in the trees created panic, it tensed her muscles, preparing her for either a fight or a flight. Just as those thoughts were playing around in her head, a snap of a branch, drives her head high onto her curved nape. Tension spreads through out her body, she raises her perlino tail high over her back. She tests the winds, the scents flooding her opened quivering nostrils.

From the forest's shadow, her pale Lyden appears, relief floods her chest. His throaty nicker filling the void between them, a sigh escapes her opened lips. She had half been expecting a predator to come stalking out of the woods, and was relieved to see Lyden. He closes the distance between them, pushing his muzzle into her shoulder, she can feel that there is something not right with him. Was it the troubled look in those pale eyes? He drapes his neck over her withers, she catches a breath in her throat. They had not been this close, in it seemed forever.

As his voice fills her ears, she can not but feel a warmth spreading through out her chest. "It is such a romantic notion. I like the sounds of it." A smile touches her pink lips. In the back of her mind, she can not help but feel a tinge of doubt. Maybe it was the rising chaos that seemed to be consuming them even if they tried their best to stray from it. The challenge for her, seemed to be at the forefront of her mind. As hard as she tried she could not help but fear the future. The worry begins to make its way into her delicate face, she was scared of leaving the Forest. Maybe it was Lyden's touch that reminded her of the hardships that she might still have to indure. She hoped that she would be able to face them with Lyden, but she feared that she would have to do them alone.

"I'm scared." Were the only words that she managed to say to him, he needed to know of the fear that consumed her.
