Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Lies were easily skewed into truths, and Nakki (as an after thought) had decided the she possibly had told a truth by “literally” interpreting the question. The female had asked if Nakki was a demon she heard about and the answer was no. Nakki was an insignificant figure that wolves didn’t care to gossip about. However, the conversational debate between lies and truths was a game of annoyance to Nakki. She knew the end result of such an argument and the end result was unchanged- the younger wolf would still conclude that Nakki was a part of the demon clan even if she were to argue that she had told the truth. And thus, the detour would have been pointless other than to demonstrate that Nakki had an act for enjoying… petty things (which played a hand in politics, one might say, but in daily conversation was simply tedious).

Perhaps her love of the petty things in life was showing through anyways as she tested the female with blood. Nakki wouldn’t speak latin with a wolf unworthy of the tongue and thus, she sought to see the wolf behind the mask of introduction. And boy, had she nailed it! Nakki hadn’t expected the reaction to her test to be so severe, but she watch with wide and absolutely pleased eyes as the she-wolf turned violent with bloodlust. Nakki watched the imminent attack as if it were in slow motion. The inflection of obsession gleamed in the eyes of her companion as the lips pulled back to reveal sharp teeth. Her head lunged forwards like a snake striking out at an unsuspecting mouse. Nakki’s spine shivered in alarm, and her mind soared with joy at being the mouse, even for half a moment; she was so rarely was on the prey end of a hunt. It was her turn to pass the test of survival.

Nakki’s made no move to dodge the sharp teeth of the female. She had offered and so she would give. Nakki barked in fury (the kind of fury one has after hitting their head) at the pain caused when the female’s teeth sank into her flesh. The feel of the vicegrip of the younger wolf’s jaws sent instinctual panic signals to Nakki’s brain. The panic triggered Nakki’s reaction. She lunged down upon her target’s face, her teeth aimed to rip out the female’s remaining eye first, though Nakki would rip apart any flesh she could grab until her leg was free of the stranger’s mouth.
