how does it sound if we spend the night out?

Leaving the land wasn’t the mare’s first choice, without thinking too much about the consequences her body was already wet with sea water as she trudged into the blue black depths. Something to do with her intuition drove her away from the main lands, Giselle was hoping for warmer weather. The silver mare had survived a many cold winters, however this time she wanted to branch out and try to find a better suited locale. Her mother had told her stories about these Islands and how they were special in a way that each had its own climate.

It was a big risk going into unfamiliar territory she thought as her hooves dug into the packed wet sand. However the beach was a beauty sight for sore eyes as she relished in the warmth, stopping momentarily to look around. Giselle’s silvery grulla coat was specked with an overo pattern and set her apart from her sandy surroundings; there was a slight breeze that she could feel against her cheek. A storm was moving in, and just in time for Giselle to be safe on land.

It was a little silly of her, not thinking of the possibility she had run into someone else’s home. Maybe it was the distracting comfort of the heat that eluded her worries but Giselle continued moving deeper into the island anyway – a little captivated by the tropicals, not ever having seen anything like it in her life. Sure enough the wind blew ahead of her, thunder rumbled angrily overhead, not giving her the warning that another horse may be in the area and the golden outcrop of another horse’s back stuck out on the beach.

Simply she stopped, head high and ears forward as she watched the stranger with blue eyes a little stuck in the headlights at the sudden apparition of an unknown horse. Giselle was still a fair distance away, she was contemplating turning back and getting as far away as she could – not certain what fate may await her if she lingered long enough to find out. Although even though she was far away, Giselle could tell that the other horse appeared to be limping and so she stayed put a safe distance away and observed, half curious about the reason behind it.
