"Indeed" Xina agreed with his words once Tarrant was finished talking. Debonaire had sheltered the pale frosted stallion’s family just as well the stallion in a time of need. Now upon the same Island the roan woman hoped that Tarrant would repay that debt.


"Conquistador is his name." she said, her eyes drifting away to the direction that the palomino and roan buckskin had ventured off. But sadly the mother could not spot her children upon the shore so her gaze made it back to Tarrant. "Sahin had promised to keep him safe and teach him the ways of a stallion as he is at the age of maturity and I can not teach him in the things he will be facing now. But alas Sahin did not come through with that promise when he had allowed another stallion to claim this land before you and did not chase him away."


Xina felt bitter and betrayed at the blanketed stallion for his actions. Only recently had she begun to trust him and now the roan mare could only feel regret in her actions towards him. He had even let Dia be stolen, the mare he obviously loved. Sahin was most certainly not the role model she wanted for her son.


"Tarrant, I know Debonaire saw something in you or he would not have allowed you to live on our shores. I trust his judgement then when I ask you now to repay that debt and keep Conquistador as your second. He is without a home and without a teacher. Where he goes later is up to him but as his mother I'm asking this of you now."


As she spoke the mare's blue and brown gaze bore into the stallion. The fierceness of a mother lay there along with determination. If he said yes now Xina knew she would be grateful the rest of ther life towards the stallion but for now she did not dare hope in case he turned her down.
