PETERSON, Wayne Edwin 66, of Tampa, passed away Friday, Aug. 29, 2014. He was born Sept. 14, 1947 in Tampa. Wayne was a retired Tampa Police Officer where he proudly served and protected his community for many years. After he retired from the police department, he worked at Sears. He is preceded in death by his son, Brian Wayne Peterson; father, Clayton E. Peterson; mother, Atha Holt Peterson; and sister, Naida Miller. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Peterson; son, Jason Richard Peterson of Delmar, NY; three sisters, Diane Conte of Sarasota, Gail Pipes of Land O' Lakes, and Cheryl Shoup of Tampa. Wayne had many family members and friends that loved him dearly and he will be dearly missed by all; including his beloved dogs, Sadie a ####er Spaniel and two Yorkies, Bernie and Mr. Bentley. A Celebration of Wayne's life will be held Sept. 14, at Lowery Park Pavilion #118 starting at 12 pm. Covered dishes appreciated.
