I am surprised by her reaction as she darts out. Yet, it is not that surprising as I think about it. She is small, much smaller than I, and I surely could be a threat to her if I didn't know any better. Regardless, my initial reaction is a bit of a jolt as she frees herself, my ears pinning back a bit only for a moment. My blue and lavender eyes dart over to her form, taking in the way she holds herself. I cannot help it if it causes a gentle grin to crawl onto my black and silver lips. I do not wish to frighten or scare her. It was never my intention and my head lowers a bit in reaction to her.
As she sniffs out at me, I offer a sniff back. I inhale her scent, her smaller form and I am come to a quick assumption that she may be new to the area, but perhaps I am wrong. She is not of Diveen, not of Iromar, not of Glorall. It doesn't entirely matter though. I continue to offer a warm generous grin as my tall form falls slowly to the grass, my red belly blending with green as I tilt my head and my tail wag slightly behind me.
She then manages to speak, her voice so delicate I swear that the wind can pick it up and throw it across the sea with little effort. My dark ear reaches forward, catching her words just barely, so much so that I question what she says. My brow furrows slightly, head tilting slightly even more before it completely registers. Did she just call me...beautiful? Well, I cannot deny her such a thought, for it is certainly hers to have as long as she likes. My face lights up like a gentle wave glimmering with sunset. She may have just made my day.
"I appreciate it," I reply, my tail thumping gently behind me, surely disturbing any little creatures that may be residing near it. I almost open my mouth again when my ears hear the presence of another, and it does not surprise me that we are not alone this day. I only hope this new individual doesn't scare off a girl so interesting on this day, and my eyes come to follow the darker form as she speaks. I find that my nose wrinkles slightly at her comment. A first greeting is no love, and I wish not to bring discomfort to the lighter colored fae with such a comment. I hardly understand why this older woman comes, but perhaps she is just a bit rough on the exterior.
"We were just introducing ourselves. I am Praetor, and what is your name?" I ask, my eyes focusing gently on the girl that bolted from the foliage. I wished her to feel welcome, and I am certain the girl with a darker cloak will respond when she felt like it. |
