Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

There is little to no mercy in the hit she puts on me as we crash into the water together. I'm convinced that she must be crazed from what we just witnessed. She must be seeing visions of that wolf with the scar and she's etiher blaming her or blaming herself for mom's death. I'm still devastated from the whole thing but I'm trying to accept the facts. I just keep replaying's mom's last message to me. Her eyes were full of the hopes and dreams of her children as she told me to run with silent words. She did little more than mouth the words before she took her last breath and I knew that she didn't want me to seek vengeance for her. She wanted me to go out into the world and make a difference so she wouldn't die in vain. She saved my life and I'll never forget that but maybe Viora should cause that hurts!

She doesn't seem to really hear anything I'm saying right now as she lunges and snaps at my face. Her eyes are the same eyes as she had for the wolf who attacked mom as she comes at me again and again. It's like she's not seeing me at all. She follows in my steps everywhere I go as I try to escape the wrath of her teeth. I'm quick but I haven't been training in combat. I've been training in diplomacy so in a fight, I'm well out matched. She bites at my muzzle and I try to draw back but her fangs scrape down the top of my muzzle as I jerk back with a yelp.

"No, Viora! I didn't kill mom! The other wolf did! It's me, Tristan, your brother. Please stop!"

I'm even more convinced that she doesn't know its me when she comments about scars. My eyes widen as I remember how I started the whole thing by asking about the wolf's scars. She didn't seem to like that very much. I back up, stumbling over my own feet as Viora closes on me.

"Viora, stop this at once! I didn't do this! We both lost mom and we need to deal with it! Just stop!"

I yell at the top of my lungs, hoping to get through to her this time. I bring up my paw and swipe it sideways at her face, like a slap, just something to snap her out of it. I'm just praying that this will work instead of just pissing her off more.
