Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Hunger. It was a basic need that drove every wolf to kill. It was something that lingered within every lupine soul that walked on the earth. Flare was driven on this day to feed, just as she was almost every day. It was an endless cycle, an endless torture of her own existence which she could not deny. Unfortunately for her, the world of language was never to be understood, at least, never as anyone else could. Her mind was deprived as a child, left to the silence of the world other than growls and snarls. She was doomed to a life of following true dominance, the shadow that is Tobias, for no one dare attempt to save the savage female from the demon of Moladion.

Her nares are tickled on this day. She snorts as she sniffs the air, her nose picking up a vaguely familiar trail. It is the scent of a male she encountered many moons ago. Surprisingly, her connection of scent and vision were incredibly strong. Where her verbal ability lacked, her mind made up for in other areas. She remember the male wolf, and how a young pup followed him before. Immediately her mind assumed something young and vulnerable would be in his care. She did not hesitate to follow the trail- and she did not hesitate to use great caution and stealth.

She found that social wolves lack a bit of...awareness due to their constant chatter. Their ears seemed to not be as keen, and they eyes always seem distracted. It did not mean she would mis-step though. The female of flame and snow made sure to stick to edges, to brush and trees to obscure her frame. She grit her teeth, her red eyes falling upon the two so far off in the distance.

Her instinct was right. He was with a young one, and she found herself stalking closer. The wolf had a different young one with him, and her flame eyes locked upon him. Yet, he would not be the easiest of targets. Adults wolves tended to protect smaller ones- yet they never protected the small creature they chase now. No, they never protect hares, instead they feast upon them just as she does.

This was to be her target. They were wearing it down, and Flare was going to take it as her prize and food for the day. She lowered herself, her frame set in a hunting position as Maddox rushed the hare down again. Flare knew and cared not that this was some sort of hunting lesson for the boy. This was a matter of life and death for the girl of flame. It was a matter of soothing her stomach. It was a matter much greater than some pup's ego.

She dashed forward, her timing skilled and her paws quick. She stepped lightly and without any sort of hesitation, and once she was out to be seen, she did not stop. She did her best to interrupt, to cut off the hare and to grasp it with her jaws. She aimed to bite down upon its neck, to lift it and carry it away to be feasted upon alone. It was a moment of great importance, and she was fierce as she attempted to successfully steal the hare.
