The large, earth toned wolf was on the trail of a couple of delectable scented hares; with this new Spring had come new children to Iblis and Rhae. Not only that- her very beloved was standing on his own for rights to their very own pack. Never had she thought he would settle for pack life in her time with him, let alone wish Alphaship upon himself. But alas, her true, darling knight was off and away this her day, leaving her to fill her empty belly in order to produce enough milk for her newborns. The gifts from the darling Isola had done Rhae well, and it was most appreciated, but she would not ask more of the Angel Queen and her wolves. She had been a loner for the greater part of her life, after all, and if nothing else a lone wolf was more than self-sufficient, even with new children on the mind- especially with new children at the teat.

Rhae of course did not mind the fact that Iblis had gone off, she was really rather proud of him and the prospect of having a permanent home in which their family would always be safe, should they so choose to live in the new land. And even if her Iblis did not return to her victorious, it would surely be an experience for him, and Rhae would be proud of him always. The scent of her prey continued to grow ever stronger, but before she could find herself upon them, a sudden roar that broke the air had her instantly changing direction. There was not a moment for her to consider or to hesitate, not that she would either way. She would know the voice of a bear anywhere- an angry and ready to charge bear at that. Her long, strong legs brought her quickly to the scene, where it seemed a barely grown female wolf was.. tugging a plant, in the direct path of the bear. But no warning was needed- it was obvious she knew the bear was almost upon her, and sure enough she was quick to tuck her tail and turn, taking off with immaculate speed.

Rhae’s voice came forth in a sharp bark, a distraction she hoped for the bear, one to draw its attention away from the girl and upon the older wolf. She would be ready when the beast turned upon her, and if it did not- she would go as far as to snap at its haunches, willing to truly enrage it if it meant deterring it from the other. The girl might have had the true speed to get away unscathed, but Rhae would take no chances when it came to a member of the Angel pack. Isola had always been so graciously kind to her Iblis, and to Rhae since they had met, that any pack wolf of hers was truly seen as family by the earth toned behemoth. And perhaps it was a trait she had picked up readily from her imprint, but she would sacrifice herself for another if it meant they would live. It was true she had her children back in their den, and her Iblis out in the world, fighting for them all- but she was here and now, fighting for the unknown girl of crème and flame and even chocolate, reminiscent of her own beloved daughters.

If the bear had given chase, she would lead it away from all others, making sure to take it far into the free lands before even daring to double back and come to the place where it had begun. She sought the girl, the one who had tried to tug the plant from its deep roots within the soil. When Rhae came upon that same plant, she used her blunt claws to dig a bit of the earth up around the plant, gently gripping the base of the green with her jaws before giving slow, gentle tugs. With ease the roots came free from the soil, a slight shaking of her large skull allowing excess dirt to fall where it would return. Content with this, curious, wide teal eyes search for any sign before she began forward, her muzzle falling low to the earth only to find her scent before beginning her search. Where they would be, Rhae did not know, but she wished to find her if it were at all possible. To bring her the plant she wanted, and to know her name, and who she was.

Her largeness once again did not fail her as soon the dark chocolate of the strangers back came into view, but whether she was still retreating or not was unclear. A pleasant whine was given in greeting, as well as a brief wag of her thick and lush tail. The plant still remained within her jaws so large, but grip so delicate, and she came forward slowly, her movements graceful and fluid for one so tall. She hoped the girl would not take fright to her approach, and would take kindly to the plant she brought as a gift, for truly one so lovely could not be as harsh as the world may be.
