The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

lucero

Zeltzin was indeed a wolf who could handle her own, this Lucero saw and admired about her. And when she asked him to just call her her rightful name without any title, the boy gave a respectful nod. If the lady wished it, then she would have it, of course. Her voice sounded nervous, and the crθme and russet and black wolf wished to ease that in her. Once again he found his posture relaxing before her, his bright teal gaze with its chocolate accent curiously glancing up to find her own again. He did not look away this time, as he did not want to, and hoped it would comfort her in the manner of treating her no different than he had prior. She told him to call her Zelly, and it brought a handsome, warm smile to his features, his one good eye focusing intently upon her features. It fit her, this nickname she gave and he could not deny her the pleasure of addressing her. “Zelly it is.”

He enjoys the way it sounds when he says it, and almost as an afterthought, he’s offering her the same respect, if she would like it. “You can call me Lu if you like it better.” No one but his Mum called him that, but if Zelly wanted to, he would be more than happy with it. When she spoke of her Father and how he became flustered when others called him King, it reminded him of his own Father, Iblis, and how he would probably be much the same. His Mum called Iblis her knight, and it was how Lucero had always seen him. The older male had always been one full of righteousness, and his son followed closely behind. When the conversation moved to the more grim aspect of life, he had been hesitant, but she was persistent. He liked that about her, and aimed to please her rather than dishearten her.

Nodding his still growing skull slightly, he is agreeing with her as he voices his thoughts and what he has learned. “Wolves like Tobias, and his mate, a wolf of red and white and black, with eyes of flame. I do not know her name, and have never known another to have known it- even my Father.” It was an interesting thing, at least to him, when his Father did not know something, simply because he had spent the greater part of his life within Moladion, both Old and New. When Lucero spoke of Iblis, there was a certain pride to his voice, as he was proud of his entire family and their doings. “Even they have children- none of their names I know but my eldest sister did know their son. ” As he spoke, it was almost as if the half blind boy as musing to himself, but also speaking to her, just of information and of what he knew. Knowledge was a powerful tool, something his wise dam knew well and had made sure to teach him.

Pertaining to her last question, he gave no hesitation and was honest with her. It was what she had wanted, after all, and Lucero had no intention of disappointing his brand new friend. “It happens more than one would think, Zelly. And a lot of it goes unheard, or unspoken of. There are many that are afraid of the shadows and what lurk within them. It does well to remain safe and sound.” And as it was, though they were both growing they were not full grown yet, and they were within his cave in the freelands, albeit not too far away from her home, he told himself he would keep her safe until she returned home. She was capable, and it was not that he was babying her; on the contrary, he simply wanted to spend more time with her and talk with her, to get to know her better, for living the life of a lone wolf could be rather lonesome at times. It was nice to be with another, as it felt like it had truly been a life time since spending quality time with his own family. Perhaps that was something to change in the near future, but for now he was here with Zelly and he would not have it another way.

Wanting to know more about her, he watched her curiously before his voice came forth once more, his eagerness and welcome obvious in his youthful tones. “How often might such things befall your home of Taviora? Do more numbers deter them, or do they still think they might stand a chance?” It was an honest question, one she may not be able to answer, but it was a start for him. Lucero would happily listen to whatever it was she had to say, whatever it was she wanted to tell him. He wanted to spend more time with Zelly, and he would find his way to do just that.
