Ace lifted his grey head as dawn approached and saw the brown shape again. He snorted as he realized it was a female, and heaved himself to his paws, giving a long stretch. He lifted his snout and gave a small sniff. Elk! He thought happily, following the scent trail until he reached a small female fawn sleeping in the sun behind a bush. He stalked silently and leaped, sinking his teeth into the flesh of it and it limped down dead. He knawed a bit of it, and looked at the rest. He picked it up and silently stalked over to the edge of the stream, dropped the carcass afew fox-lengths away from the female and trotted away slowly. Replies:
