'Come on, you pansy ass! It's just a small swim to the other side! Get in the damn water and paddle like that bison is after you!' No matter how much Judas screamed at himself inside his mind he couldn't bring himself to dive into the deep waters. Instead, his violet gaze looked out at the island with greed and jealousy. He wanted to see what was over there. Maybe he could make a secret hiding place where no one could find him when he was in trouble. Since... he seemed to be in trouble a lot. Suddenly, the sand parted away at the heavy steps of the king of the sea. Tesseract moved with a certain grace that his son would one day mimic but his steps held a great weight that the younger wolf couldn't quite understand. As father sat next to son, the boy couldn't help but feel he was in trouble. For what? Anything. Anything at all. But when asked about his paws, Judas gazed down at his toes, confused. "No, my paws are clean... I think." Was that a metaphor? Did he actually want to know if he had been in trouble? Wait, maybe Dad didn't know about the bison!? How could that be. He knew everything. All Dads did. Well, if he knew than he was just going to have to come out and say it. Until then, the boy would remain silent. But there was something he needed to talk to Tesseract about and now was as good a time as any. Maybe it would help the blow when he did want to talk about the danger the pup had brought on Glorall. "Pops, can I ask you something? How do you know when you have found "the one"? Like, does it feel like something just kinda... pulled you towards her? Like nothing else matters but her. Has this ever happened to you?" At once his thoughts went to Mana. She was just a pup still but she was adorable in every regard. His feelings weren't that of love just yet. She didn't need that yet. No, she was like a little sister to him for now. He was her protector and punching back. A teacher and a listener. Perhaps these feelings would change one day but all in due time. The feelings had come along so suddenly and he was confused. Dad would know what this was. He would know how to help. Judas waited for him to reply, violet eyes bright and eager. |
