Danny's head cocked to the side at Thoth's words, rather curious about why Morveren was so different from other familiars. He'd never met one like her before, or really even heard about it, but he supposed if it worked for Thoth than that was all that really mattered. He had to admit he'd have felt rather lost without Sol's snarky remarks; as it was, he missed the tiger's voice in his head when words just weren't enough. Not to mention how handy that connection could be when they were apart and needed to get a message to their other half. At least the ancient creature hadn't stolen Sol's voice when it took away the magic.

"She's pretty cool, I think," Danny said, but added a shrug as if to say 'but what do I know about cool?'. Sol, who was still peeking around the curtain in hopes of seeing Morv rushing back, clearly agreed. Danny shot Thoth a smile and made his farewells, promising he'd return tomorrow as soon as he could get away from his lessons and duties. That done, he and Sol headed home in search of food and their beds.

Danny managed to arrive an hour or so earlier than he'd planned, and would have shown up even earlier had it not been for a brief... incident in the hallway near Thoth's laboratory. It was this same incident that led to Danny's disheveled appearance as he skidded to a halt near Thoth's bed, his already enormous bag seemingly stuffed to the breaking point now. His hair was rather messy, even for Danny, and there appeared to be a bit of either dirt or ashes from a fireplace on his cheeks and nose. His lip was split and bleeding a little, not that Danny seemed to notice it, and a bit of raw skin was visible through the hole at the knee of his breeches. Still, he seemed to be in a good mood as he greeted Thoth and Morveren, then turned to fiddle with his bag.

"Sorry I'm a little late, I ran into a spot of trouble on the way in. Sol took care of them before they could damage anything I had in my bag at least," he said, forgetting he hadn't said who "they" were before then. "But I think I got everything we need."

Danny began tugging various items from the bag, ignoring the vague throb at the base of his neck where he'd been grabbed. Danny wasn't often a target for the castle's resident bullies - someone in the group had been smart enough to realize early on that Danny's apprenticeship meant he may one day be the one to patch them up when they were sick or injured - and his "secret weapon", his telekinesis, often helped to dissuade them, but with a lack of more entertaining targets, Thoth to name just one, and a general quietness around the castle had prompted them to give him a bit of a roughing up. Of course, they'd forgotten about Danny's large and rather intimidating familiar, whom had scared most of them off with a roar that shook the rafters and a lot of exaggerated licking of lips. Sol had also managed to keep the bullies away from the bag, which Danny had finished filling only minutes before with the vials of Thoth's precious penicillin.
