I really never had much fun as a child, any fun I had was by myself. None of my siblings played with me, or if they did they just beat me up for their own enjoyment. And the other pups in the pack simply ignored my existence all together. I mainly played on my own, always did things on my own. And when I was on the run I had no fun at all, all I ever felt was panic and fear. So it was strange to desire to have fun with Astaroth, maybe it was the bond, maybe something else entirely.

"I am... impressed." he said with a nod and I even saw the smallest of grins come over him. It was true that I was fast, in fact, I used to be the fastest in my pack, not that it mattered to anyone; they only cared about strength and didn't care how fast I was. And even now I was quicker than Astaroth, and it showed when we went on treks by how much I would have to slow down so I didn't get to far ahead of him.

He dove into his meal, eating while listening to what I said. When I mentioned it was life was difficult in Iromar his mahogany gaze immediately narrowed. Life here was different from where i'd grown up and where I used to stay, the land required the wolves to be stronger and so I was being pushed to be stronger. But that was okay, its exactly what I needed.

Suddenly, when I mentioned him being one reason I liked being here and was hit by a wave of embarrassment, he was hit with a sudden amount of shyness. He inhaled fast, but the sharp intake also brought in some of his food, and he soon began to cough. I was shocked and worried, making me stand and move closer to try and help him. "Are you okay?"I asked as the coughing fit stopped, wanting to make sure he was okay after nearly choking.

There was a minute of silence as he began to think about something, and in that time I laid back down and continued to eat. "I can train you. Then, nobody will make it difficult. Not even mother, or father." he said suddenly, and I looked up at him in surprise. I couldn't help the smile that came over me at his words. My tail wagged as I thought about him training me and making me so I can stand up for myself; although his mere presence made me feel so much stronger. "You'd really do that for me? Thank you Astaroth, it means a lot to me," I said.

"Then you will not have to leave. You can stay then, right?" he quickly added, and they sounded harsh but it was too late, I saw straight through it. Though I wouldn't tell him, so I simply nodded. "Yeah. If I can't become stronger here, then i'm weak and don't deserve to live here," I answered, though it hurt and I had to hold back a wince. Maybe I was just giving him a taste of his own medicine, since my words were harsh as well, but to myself.
