The wolf simply stares at me as I walk out where she can see me. There's no fear in her eyes and I feel a touch of anger at that. What right has she not to fear what I could do to her? I could crush her leg between my teeth. I could scalp her and fillet her like a fish. I could break her piece by piece and never once feel hesitation or uncertainty. And yet she simply stares. My hackles ripple along my spine and it takes everything I have not to take her out now. I'm more agitated when Ani's not around to calm me. I hve certain urges to hurt things because she's not beside me and this wolf could easily see the bad side of it. She stares at me for the longest time and then suddenly she steps back, her body language telling me that I can pass unheeded. With a gruff snort, I lift my tail in dominance to warn her of my intentions if she makes one wrong move as I go to take a step toward her. But that's when Ani's call rings out. I know its her instantly. I would know her voice anywhere. My whole body stiffens and I look toward hte call, my whole body on alert and ready to go to her. But then the wolf in front of me takes off and I know that she's on her way to the call. A snarl rips from my lungs as I take off after her, hot on her trail as she rushes to Ani. I won't stand for someone hurting her, touching her, hell, even looking at her is forbidden. The wolf reaches her just seconds before, her voice soothing as she moves toward Ani. I'm about to rush in and rip her to shred but I stop cold when I hear something...odd. A weird whimpering noise that doesn't sound like Ani. I pause in my tracks, my whole body going cold as I stare through the dense brush at Ani's body where something small and helpless is crawling around and suckling at her stomach. What...the....fuck?!!! I've never had someone tell me about children or how you get them. I'd noticed Ani's body growing quite plump in the past few weeks but I didn't think much of it, just that I was feeding her well which was just fine by me. I don't mind what she looks like, she'll always be mine. But this...this thing is foreign to me. All I know is that it's blocking me from getting to Ani. Another growl rushes to my throat, my lips curling up as my hackles rise, trying to warn it off. The wolf looks at Ani and then rushes away and I wonder if I managed to scare her off. Good riddance. I take a threatening step toward the small pup, my growl more pronounced as saliva drips from my jaws. How dare it continue to touch her like that! The other wolf appears again out of nowhere with something in her mouth. I sniff the air and wrinkle my nose. Moss? What the hell is she doing with that? I watch as she moves toward Ani and I growl again in warning but then I see her using the moss to do something. Is she taking away the blood. It looks like it. My growl softens but I don't change the threatening posture as I continue to watch, dumbfounded. I look at Ani's face. Why isn't she moving? Why isn't she speaking? A whimper falls from my own lips before I know it, my ears drooping before I look back at the other wolf. "Make her speak." I command in a deep growling tone. I have to hear her voice.
