"Perhaps," I say, gazing down at her gentle paw with comfort. A soft smile brushed my face as I found her own gaze. "Even if I didn't succeed, I don't regret my decision in wandering. At least I've made a friend along the way."
When he removed her paw, the warmth it left behind still remain, making my own paw tingle. By the second our friendship grew and grew, and I felt more comfort in her presence.
When she spoke of her leadership position as Queen, my smile faltered and I wasn't sure how to react, or even act for that matter. Am I supposed to bow?
The look on her face was full of pride, so my smile grew and remained. I don't think she expected any special treatment for her announcement, and so I was only proud for her as she was for herself. Her pride bellowed from her form, and I swear I could see the hint of light surrounding her.
"Oh... Well I uh-um." I stuttered, the thought hammering in my mind. It was sudden, and unexpected... But it's something she was willing to share. My hackles shuttered a bit at the thought of even being near a pack, but if it were as beautiful as she says, what would it hurt to see?
I let a sigh draw out lowly, my breath tickling my bottom lip as it turned into a fog before my face. Ears fell back momentarily as I debated, dawdling for longer.
"I'd love to," I finally say, my tail plopping against the snow. The white powder flew up and around, landing softly onto my back.
