Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Return to Lunar Children
the beauty of intellect
IP: 97.121.198.173

When the wolf of white, choarcoal, and russet speckling asks her question, her eldest brother is given to allow a half chuckle. It had her exquisite skull tilting ever so subtly in this, her mind wondering what he might find so amusing. Starfall had always been an interesting one, this she had known much before taking her leave, and now was perhaps her time to discover more. It might not be in her soul to remain in a place for too long, but knowledge was something she could never pass up, for to allow any intellect to pass one by was a folly in itself. But she had known him to know her, for as when she had buried the Raven beneath their paws, he had spoken her name. A long time had passed since she had heard her name fall past anothers lips, for in her journies and travels she had known many names. She still knew many names, but Iophiel had been her birth right and any family member she found would put life in the title once again. A gentle twitch to her stark white right ear splattered in crimson gives way to the fact of her pleasure at his acknowledgement, but while Iophiel was not exactly sentimental, she did enjoy the simple joys that family occasionally had to offer. Particularly a wolf so like minded as Starfall, even if she might not know it, not yet, at least.

When her brother apologizes, she is given to wonder if he even knew of her departure at all to begin with. His apology had been for not coming to see her sooner, when in fact he would not have been able to see her at all. She had been but a child when she had gone on her way, only to return as the fully matured adult that stood before him. It seemed he did not know, could not know that he was the first wolf she had come to see since returning at all. She could have gone to Diveen, could have gone to Taviora. But instead, the Raven had brought her to this forest place, this place that held her dearest brother Starfall, and to this she had no complaints, though she did wonder at her brothers mind at times. She knew little about that mind, only vague grumbles her Father had given when she was a young thing, though those memories are mostly unimportant when it came to information about her siblings. Her Father had a predjuice way of thinking, as most angels did, and of course she was not one to blame him. It was his simple heritage, after all, and it was not as if he had the will power to change it. If he could, if he wanted to, he would, and it was really as simple as that. Just as Iophiel was here, because she had made it so and followed the Raven, to face the consequences of her actions as all souls one day would have to.

"Couldnt'a seen me if ya' tried, pater." A brief, amused smile is flashing across her features, though it goes just as quick as it comes. It is not that Iohpiel isn't enjoying her brothers company; on the contrary, she finds herself full of a rather pleasant and fulfilling joy. But it is rather that the wolf is not given often to express herself as a usual, typical soul might. The ways of the physical world were a curious thing, and while she found herself existing mainly within it, she also knew there were other places for her to be. But for not, she was with her brother, she was with Starfall, and there she would remain. A gentle roll of a shrug of her shoulders is given, her words given in simple explanation for him. "Been gone since just before I'as two." Plain and simple, because that was how it felt to be with him, to interact with him. That, as well as easy, for interaction with a sibling was a natural thing, as much as she lacked in the actual act of it. His last question for her has her pausing as she watches him, considering her words and what all she might share with him, wondering at his own thoughts and where they themselves might lead to. But she trusts him, his nebula gaze of pink and yellow giving her a sort of comfort not to have been felt in years. It was a wonder, what the bond of one could do for another.

"Thin's been a deus damnat nuisance for months now, never leavin' me alone to my own bussiness. Not here nor there noar any palce I'a find myself, no deus damnat peace for me in one realm or another." Almost, because he is her brother, does Iophiel lose herself in the ranting aspect of her speech. For indeed, the Raven had plagued her for quite some time, and she had drawn the line when he had found her brother. But perhaps it was the Raven had led her to him, and in this perhaps done her a favour, but that remained to be seen. For now, she was content in her watching of her brother, though when he came close she rather expected something a bit.. more. Wolves were keen on their physical closeness with one another, this she knew, though perhaps much like herself her brother was not as most others. Iophiel wondered this silently to herself, before she dared an experiment with the reaching of her muzzle, white gently nudging against dark charcoal. Violet irises with their starburst of gold around the pupil watch him intently, wondering at his reaction and how he might feel. Her words were as much for herself as they were for him, though truly they were for both all the same. "I wonder what goes on inside of there." Where, well, could very well be anywhere, and where it might be might just depend on where he dubbed it, or perhaps his opinion hardly mattered at all. The mostly white wolf waited to see which it would be, with an intense curiosity hardly a soul could match, and a burning bright gaze to go right along side it.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
