The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

When she had come upon these caverns she never suspected in finding the other half of her soul, the innocence she had lost long ago in the body of another. She is pulled to him on a level that is almost ethereal. As if despite her sins she has been given a second chance to have what she never truly held. He is the soothing balm to her memories, a chance to move along into a future without worry. For he will be at her side, they are a shadow to one another given by fate. She does not know the just how true this was, but she does know she would fall for him if he needed it. A bond forever there, a string from her to him and him to her. Forever bound.

The reassurance she finds in his touch causes a sigh of relief to heave from her lungs. As she watches the surprise flicker in his eyes at her gesture, causing a small laugh to bubble as she leans heavily into him until he begins to move. Once again is she on the narrow path, a clump of fur in her hold as they walk. Once again protecting him and no longer questioning for she has a reason now. As the light of the entrance is seen, she stills. Tangerine eyes blinking at what is to be there goodbye. Quickly does he turn before her, burying his head in the plush of her chest, and just as quickly embracing him as she hangs her own atop his. Breathing him in this precious contact he gives her. As he looks up at her, mouthing words for his voice she gives a smile only for him. Afraid to speak so that he may not her the thick emotions in her words she mouths back, 'I know'

With that she buries herself into the embrace, cherishing this for another moment before she pries herself from him, whimpering slightly before she forces her legs to take her away from him, an ache in her soul as it screams at the absence. But before she is out of sight she turns back, smiling softly as raspy voice calls back. "Don't make me wait too long.." Winking at him despite the sorrow. And then she is gone, leaving her shadows for the light.
