Curious about him, I took a single step forward, continuing to remain with Spirane’s borders, but standing just upon where mine own scent marked the difference between home and common lands. As I did so, he lifted his head to gaze once more at the moon. I cocked my head slightly to the side, a single brown lifting quizzically. He seemed completely enthralled with the celestial beings.

When he returned his gaze to me, I righted my head and made my brows even once more by raising the other as he gracefully bowed before me once more. He told me of his passion for the moon and how it spoke to him. Of his religion and why he called out to the moon on this night. Quietly I listened to him, not interrupting his speech. For a moment I was given to recall a meeting somewhat similar to this one, with a wolf named Zeus. He had been so bold and outrageous in his claims to be a god himself that I had been forced to sever ties with him before they were even fully formed. But something about this wolf seemed different. His ego was not inflated, he was simply a wolf with a belief that his whole heart as invested in. And that I could appreciate.

Once he finished explaining his religion to me, he relaxed onto his hindquarters and lifted his head. His howl echoed out across the mountain once more, and in being consumed by the moment, I lifted my own dial and joined in his song. My howl rang out across Moladion, mingling with his howl and creating a beautiful chorus. As his voice faded, so too did mine, and I lowered my tiara, smiling at him. Yet again he bowed, and I chuckled softly. “Please, there is no need to bow before me so many times.” I said, a smile softly gracing my features. “Thank you for sharing the story of your religion with me.
