The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

was born with roses in her eyes
Talking to yourself was perfectly healthy! It was a sign of an active mind. Her father often talked to himself throughout the night, and he told her that you should always be comfortable in the company of yourself. She didn't talk to herself as much as he did, but she had picked it up a little bit at the very least. She chose not to respond to his more challenging words and instead lead him out through the caves. Though the dark, wet interior of the cave was home, nothing could really beat the sunlight. Antoinette was more than happy to continue their conversation outside of the caverns.

Tristan seems to share her sentiments with heading outside, which made sense as he seemed to be far more uncomfortable with the darkness than she was. She glanced back at him for a second after he jumped when she walked by. Why did he jump like that? Did he think it was a spider or something? I give a mental shrug and simply continue on. Body language and touch was more important in the caves since you really couldn't see anything past your nose. It was easy to get lost or go in the wrong direction when you couldn't see who you were supposed to be following.

However, the pair made it outside without much of a hitch. Her mismatched eyes blinked, adjusting to the sunlight as she walked outside. Antoinette gave a happy sigh as she felt the sun on her cream fur, her tail giving a small flick as the other follows her outside.

Tristan's smile is echoed on the girl's face, seemingly a bit less testy than she had been within the caves. The sunlight put her more at ease, and at least her companion wasn't being so rude now. Antoinette refused to acknowledge that she, in fact, could have been rude as well. The thought simply didn't cross her mind.

Her ear gives a little flick as she turned to look at him after he asked his question. "How do you think I know my way around so well?" Antoinette said with a raise of her eyebrow. "I live in those caves with several other wolves. But I haven't seen them in a while... so I'm not sure for how much longer it will be home." she says with a small shrug. "Why did you come to the caves today?" the princess says with a curious tilt of her head.
