The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Grey Wind

The pup’s eyes stayed on the large brute’s muscular form as he raised his muzzle to the sky to call for Kershov. His yellow orbs looked down at the pup again, wondering what his king was going to do with the useless thing. When Grey Wind addressed Akihito again the pup took a moment before answering, something that younger lupines did not often do. Usually they just had words tumble out of their mouth without thinking about what they were saying at all. I dont know exactly where im from but it was quite far from here, somewhere over those rocks" He turned his head in the direction of the mountains and Grey Wind raised a questioning brow. If the youngster came from beyond Misty Mountain and Rainbow Cliff then he really did travel a long way. Longer than any pup should be able to survive on their own actually. The pup turned back to the grey brute and spoke again, "The one who provided milk was killed by a creature on two legs and the other one left shortly after i was born, it seems its quiet difficult to raise a family so i cant say i blame him, i had siblings as well but for some reason when the milk giver died they just curled up next to her and waited to die" He tilted his head, as if confused by the behavior his siblings had committed. Perhaps he was tougher than Grey Wind thought, even though he was still very young.

Most lupines would be saddened by the tale the young pup told, losing his parents at such a young age and then leaving his siblings in order to survive. But Grey Wind felt no sympathy. He had not gone his life without sorrows and tragedies, it was just a fact that everyone had to accept or else suffer continuously. Better to assume the worst and not hope for things in life. The brute no longer thought of his family, the parents he had lost, the siblings he would never see again. Better to steel himself from those emotions than dwell on the past and get depressed by the family that had been tortured and killed like he used to. It just made life easier to be detached he learned. The brute’s yellow orbs watched the pup in silence as he began playing with a mouse that had stupidly made its way between the two lupines. He stayed silent, watching and waiting to see if the pup would speak again or if they would wait in silence for Ker to arrive. One thing Grey Wind would not do was fake sympathies for Akihito. It would do him no good to pretend to feel bad or to tell him that life would get better, lying was not something the brujo was accustomed to doing. And besides, Grey Wind was not sorry. The deaths spoken of affected him in no way and he had no attachment to the pup to feel pity, honestly he just didn’t care.

The pup broke the silence and Grey Wind focused his attention back to him, "i left before the two legged creatures came so i dont know the details but their either dead or starving to death, i dont think they knew how to find food because all they did was jump around and sleep, after that i followed some birds that where looking for food and it led me to this forest where i found this pack" He nodded in understanding, believing the story that Akihito told. What reason would the pup have for lying anyways, though it was a little suspicious that he showed no emotion talking of his parents and siblings death. But then again Grey Wind no longer showed emotion, other than anger and destructive behaviors so he shrugged and moved on. Really it only mattered what Kershov thought. He remained silent for the time being, watching the pup play with the mouse before letting it go. Before the rodent could get to far away, Grey Wind moved swiftly and silently, grabbing the small thing almost delicately. The thing squirmed in his powerful jaws before he snapped its spinal column in two in a simple flick of his jaws, right in front of the pup. His yellow orbs watched the pup, a sadistic side showing in them as he enjoyed killing the small thing, even though he preferred to take his bloodlust out on larger prey. He dropped the mouse, not looking at its dead form before finally speaking again, ”You let it go before you could have any fun with it. Playing with its nothing compared to actually killing it.” His words were dark and would frighten many, but he had a feeling it would not scare this one away. If this pup really knew what Abendrot was about the actions and words wouldn’t even make him flinch. One would think that Grey Wind was putting on a show, any hell maybe he was. He had not done anything productive or exciting lately, so killing one small and entirely useless being in front of a pup that wanted to join the pack he was devoted to was as exciting as his life had gotten recently. A thought that made the brute want to go out and hunt and destroy much larger and deadlier beings. Made him want to hunt for blood and the joy of bringing another being pain.

"Fight back,"He snarled.
