The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

I Can Be Your Painkiller.

I had found myself entering the caves not long after the sun had set low behind the highest peak of the mountains. My fur bristled with panic as I attempted to breach the place of comfort and safety. These areas reeked of many wolves, and whether these caves seemed fit for me to hide, I'm still no safer. I still feel as if I'm standing in the open, being targeted by anyone watching my every move. I'm in a new place, so nothing is safe.

I'd found the stream trickling with cool water, and had my fill of it. The perched feeling becoming satisfied as I rested my haunches, and then lay myself down for a nice little nap. Napping became hard in a matter of seconds, though. Simply because my mind didn't want me to let my guard down, if there were any attacks coming my way.

I'm far from frightened- cautious will be the chosen word for my demeanor. Here there are many packs, when where I'm from there were hardly few. I'm an easy target, not that I won't go down without a fight.
Russet-sienna satellites rotate at the sound of free movement, suddenly perking forward as I quickly lift my head. I stare into the dark, towards the entrance as soon as another's scent finds my nostrils. My hackles raise and I quickly lift myself from my lying position and dip my dial low, ready for anything.
"State your name." I growl curtly, catching the silhouette of the other in the darkened shadows, the half moon releasing little light through the entrance. My mind never fails to anticipate a full scale of invasion. Though, I never realized the wolf is in close proximity of my bubble, and that alerted me even more. With hackles rising, I divulge a low growl once again, this time with words unspoken.

I know I should have stayed home under the protection of my brother, but the guilt is too much to bear, and I can't carry the weight on my shoulders. The disgusted looks on the other wolves' faces would just kill me on the spot, and I can't handle that. It was better for me to just leave, and force a new life upon myself. I thought that maybe I can find something here worth living for, and now is just the start.

My thoughts were wished away once I remembered the situation I'm in at the moment, so ember-sanguine pools pierced through the darkness, and into the depths of the other wolf whom'd approached moments ago. "Well?" I bark impatiently with daggers bared.

[OOC: sorry that it's a little crappy. I couldn't find much muse, but you seemed a little lonely and waiting for a post.]
