Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Laerah is new to the world. Cast out into the shadows and the cold. Well, cold for her anyway. She squeals in shock and clear displeasure. She shakes her head and quivers. Tucked up against her sister and mother. Wait! What was that smell? What was that in which she'd come to find so good? It smelled perfect; great! She inches and squirms until she's found it. Latching on to nurse finally, little Laerah is quite pleased with herself. Ah, nourishment! Happy creature this little newborn is now. Happy indeed.

Having had her fill however, the chocolate patched; snowy pup finds herself wriggling. She is blind to the world and deaf. She is only aware that there is warmth in her mother and sibling. There are familiar smells and strange smells alike. She cannot place them, but she does not mind at all. She knows they are there.

I take in the scents around me. I capture them as though I am sure of them. I knew that the time had been drawing close that mother wolves would give birth to their children. I was not about to find myself missing out on my own childrens' birth. Nope! Not happening at all. I would be there to help where I could. We were neutral packs after all, having treaties and the likes. I would not miss this opportunity for the world of me. I might make my home in Diveen but Sekera made her home in Glorall.

It is not long that the scents overwhelm me and I know. She's given birth to our pups. I approach quietly, sure of myself. I take in the younger female as she makes her way toward my Sekera and our little ones. I watch as the two little babes squirm. Two of them. I hesitate not as I move from the shadows and pull myself up alongside Sekera. There's true concern in my eyes as I puzzle over the crimson liquid that surrounds her tail and back legs. I inhale the smells and scowl. It isn't right. It isn't as dangerous as one might think but she's in pain.

"Sekera.." I say softly. My voice is low and gentle. I know that our pups are still deaf to the world and I take them in briefly. I gently run my nose along them and familiarize myself with their scents. Two little girls. These were our little girls. I smile though; my eyes shift back to her again. I gently run my nose along her cheek with a couple of licks and whuff. "They are well. Our little ones are okay. I am worried about you though." This other female though; she'd been doing something. I surveyed the piece of wood and the little black seeds. Ah; she must be a healer. Well, that is good. I give her a smile and there's appreciation in my eyes.

"Thank you for however it is that you can help her. I am Rupture and these are my pups." Clearly the other female knew that they were Sekera's but now she knew that I was the father. I knew that there was another male. I knew that there had been trouble but I would not allow him to enter my thoughts. As far as I am concerned, he'll have no part in the lives of my pups. They are mine after all. No matter if his DNA may be in there, I won't accept that. "I am from Diveen. We hold a treaty with Glorall here." I settled back on my haunches then to survey what was going on. Of course there is still concern in my eyes. I loved Sekera and I would love these pups. They mean the world to me as she does. I might not call this home but you can bet I'd be a firm part of their lives. I would make all the effort to be here that I needed to. No doubt about it!
