Re(1): How did you like Frederick Pohl?

This was a very good story and I enjoyed it, especially the usage of language. From the first line in 'future-speak' to the different usage of 'gang-speak', the story moved quickly towards it's unexpected conclusion. I liked the idea of temporal adjusters, and they neatly wrapped things up. The final reference to the California Incident was sly and humorous as well. Pohl was obviously an East Coast writer!
PKD did a story about Adjusters and it was made into a recent movie. This had many similar elements, but the use of street gangs was a fresh touch. Thinking Westside Story turf battles, not the modern well-armed gangs of today.
It certainly felt like a 50s story with the soda-shop, newspaper reporters, and low-tech police shooting at force-fiields to no effect. Time to call Michael Rennie to clean-up this mess, and they did!
