NAME; Mailoh

AGE; four

GENDER; male

EYE COLOR; bright sky blue with flecks of amber

APPEARANCE
height; 39 inches

weight; 153 lbs

build and description; Mailoh's physique is sculpted, muscular, and stocky - his legs and chest are powerfully built. His medium-length, thick pelt is made up mainly of blacks, storm gray and the occasional muted white patch throughout the top side. His underbelly and front underside is lightest grey. His face is distinct in the way that there is a long striped scar running from his lower right lip to his ear - a scar earned with glory. His paws are large, with short but sharp nails. His eyes glitter blue with amber flecks, large and nearly glowing.

PERSONALITY; gregarious and cheerful, things rarely bring Mailoh down. He is honest and sweet.

HISTORY; His mother died birthing pups when he was two; his father went on a hunting patrol and never came back. He has spent the last few years with a rogue group who helped him and who eventually left him here. Ready for something different, he is not afraid to explore this expanse and settle in.

SAMPLE - Mailoh felt cold, deep in his bones; it had been the longest winter yet running with this pack that had adopted him in. "We are all rejects and loners, Mailoh," Big Brett said to him. "We watch for each other." Pups from the spring prior were getting bigger but the wasteland they lived in was getting more and more barren. They were not growing as they should be. They were small, maybe a few inches bigger than when they were born.

Everyone had been scraping, but they were a family. Even if it was hard. Even if it was bitter cold. No one would get left behind.

He paced the perimeter to strike some warmth into his bones as he watched the one den mother and her small almost-yearlings. It was an important task but sometimes a menial one. Today it felt menial, but only because of the embittered gusts of wind.

"Mailoh," the den mother, Kailaki, called. "Do you ever think about settling down with pups and your own mate?" She was beautiful - deep chestnut pelt with cinnamon and sienna tones. Her face was delicate, the cunning eyes and demureness shaping it even more so.

Mailoh was quiet for a moment, having turned back and trotted to the mouth of the sanctuary. "Yes, sometimes ... but travelling like this all the time, all over the place, never being able to stay put for a season or two ... well, it can certainly put a damper on romanticism."His voice ended in a low rumble from his chest. His eyes were full of mirth as he looked down at the sleeping pups. He spoke again, a sentimental tone colouring the sentence.

"But, yes, maybe someday."
