Nord didn't quite know what he was getting himself into here. He stares at her for a moment as she lifted her head to look at him, shaking it around for some reason. His ears flattened slightly and he took an uncertain step back. Excited as he was to make a new friend, he hadn't considered that they might not be the kind of wolf that he would actually want to befriend. However, curiousity and kindhearted-ness overtook him. After all, maybe she was just scared or something, he hadn't been exactly... tactful in his approach or how he chose to greet her.
She's big compared to his lanky body, and though he's used to the size difference, rarely was it a female that was bigger than him. Though he felt unsettled, he wasn't about to turn tail and run like he might have only months ago. Perhaps they had just gotten off on the wrong paw. Blood red eyes scan over him, finally, and Nord swallowed nervously underneath the harsh stare. Why was she looking at him like that? As if she were sizing him up for... well. He was beginning to doubt the validity of this whole 'making friends' thing. Nord easily slipped into a more submissive stance as she raised her tail. Maybe to some males it would be humiliating to submit to a female, but he was more concerned with preserving his status at the moment. The status of being alive, that was.
Unfamiliar words reached his ears and they pricked forward, a slight look of confusion on his face. He knew of the existence of other languages, but he knew little of any of them. And certainly not the one she was speaking. Nord shifted a bit on his paws as she moved closer, sticking her muzzle right up in his face. His eyes were filled with fear for a moment before she pulled away and walked past him.
Nord let out a small squeak of surprise when she tugged at his tail. Though he didn't know what the command meant, he could at least infer from the way that her blood red eyes stared at him that she wanted him to follow. "Okay, I'll follow you." the male said, even though it was unlikely his... companion? would understand the words. He turned around, and willed his grey paws to follow the female, despite his large number of reservations about this situation. Who knew though? She could turn out to be a friend after all. Somehow he doubted that, but he would hold on to the hope, however small it was. |
