For whatever it was worth, she seemed to open up more readily now that they had broken through those brief first moments of tension. It put him at ease, and somehow it felt more right that way. Whatever hesitancy he had felt was gone though his attention still remained absolute, nodding quietly along each time she spoke. He could not refuse a small chuckle at her comment, perhaps placing his own understanding on the idea of the common folk. To him, there was a very particular type of wolf that fell into the category of
common and if he had to be honest, he was quite curious as to whether or not Leviathan fell into that basket. What she said made him quiet for a moment, confirming that she seemed not to be the most common of the common-folk.
"It takes a particular kind of wisdom to make a decision such as that."
It was all he could say, for perhaps he did not understand the situation as much as he could have. After all, he had always had a rather peculiar view of family so to be driven mad over the loss of, say, a sibling such as Vidar or Ska? It seemed baffling and so, he kept quiet on the matter. Whatever the case, he had barely felt attachment to any blood relation other than his own immediate family and those within Glorall. It always seemed strange when a family unit was constructed so differently...thus, he was glad for the change of topic, a fact that seemed to almost manifest itself as a gladdened flash of relief in his eyes.
"Come then, Levi, we shall see the sea together. I feel as if I never get to enjoy its view as much as I should."
With that, he stepped aside and pivoted, waiting for her to make a move to follow before moving to break into a natural jog across the flats and dunes of Glorall. From where they were, it would not take them long surely to break through the spares grassland and onto the sandy shores. He kept his pace even with her own all while mulling over her request; what could she do? Every wolf required a purpose and she seemed adamant to believe she had so few. Of course, he was not convinced. After all, she had made it obvious to him that she was at least very adept at choosing her words and bringing with them a sense of comfort. If that were not a skill then he was not sure what would count as such. In particular, a skill like that was needed in Glorall. Though his thoughts kept him quiet, he did his best to ensure she understood that it was not through tension or uncertainty that he stayed as such - behind him, his tail bounced rather cheerfully as his paws hit the beginning of the shore. From there, the sea sat comfortably midway between high and low tide, tiredly lapping at the white sand. Despite the summer heat, the sea had been rather quiet for some time.
"Please, do not let me hold you back. Run, swim, do as you wish. This is as much of an enjoyment for me as it must be for you."
He paused then in the sand, grinning back at her before taking a moment to truly revel in the majesty of such an environment. He flexed his paws, feeling the granules beneath and between his paws as he breathed out in an almost meditative state. He had never loved a place like he had loved this one - all of Trenus, Iromar and even Spirane could not have made him feel so at home. Surely, this must have been the feeling she had been talking about.
