The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

a thousand times I tempted fate;

Orange eyes watch as she looks towards the back of him, his gaze following the trail as they linger on the once wounded leg that now limped when over used or cold weather came. At her question his mind seems to shift and take him back to that day. A day when he had severed any hope of having her close to him, the day she had spoke of her hatred and reacted with it justly. Though she had not won, in her own way she had been victorious. Forever damaging him. He blinks steadily clearing his mind, as he looks back to Fjall and uneasy expression of his face as the gruff words seem to spill. "No, but she was rather rabid.." That horrid excuse for a laugh, hacks from his throat before he clears it yet again. Shifting his eyes at the awkward sound before he further explains. "No this was a given to me a long time ago.." He pauses, as if debating on something before he whispers unsteadily. "She would be pleased to know the damage was permanent.." There is shame in his words, for he will not deny the fact that he had deserved that and much more at the clutches of her teeth. One can only handle cruelty so far before they are pushed to their limits and explode. For his wounds upon her outweighed those upon himself, though hers are hidden by plush beauty and his are not.

He catches the movement at her lips as she smiles brightly under his praise and the image is stunning and oddly perfect, changing the wisp of a female into something else. As eyes shift uneasily unsure if he should stare or look away, finding safety in just occupying his eyes elsewhere. At her humored words of the female coon, orange eyes dance in a mirth of mirth, pleased that she was not be sad should it scar. Though even more pleased that, that was all the female had done. Coons could we pretty vicious creatures when cornered. As he nods slightly at her words.

The proposal of their next stop has any eerie cool touch spreading through his stomach within, as if a weight had been dropped in his gut; the difference in temperature causing chills and sweat to course through him. Pack? She wanted to bring him home? For a moment he contemplates running, but quickly is that squashed. For he had vowed to never again take his darkness, the presence of a pack would not shake him now. As a barely there smile is given and his words though smooth are a tad shaken. "We can find it, if that is where you want to go." At her innocent and expressive tone, he looks up almost startled from his thoughts of this Asteraia as she tells him they are indeed friends. Now that he knew this, what exactly did friends do with one another? A slightly puzzles expression between his brows as words seem to contradict. "Friends." There is an admiration in that word, even though he has never had one nor knows what the title entails but pleased nonetheless she thinks this of him as his tail gives a soft wave.

Once again distracted, at her enthusiastic and abrupt excitement he does indeed find himself as well leaping in the air as wide orange eyes look at her in shock. The once timid female now long gone as one with far more confidence and innocence takes her place. Coughing awkwardly as he smoothed his ruffled feathers, knowing there is no excuse for him to make at this one he merely peeks down at her from the corner of his eye. "I don't think you would have met her.." He starts to say but pauses, unsure if Everlyse would have actually came across the female. For the sister he once knew was just as damaged as he and would have struck first instead of aiding. But he had changed, why couldn't she? "Her name is Everlyse..." He whispers this, for this is the first time in a long time he has voiced her name from his once cruel lips. He had before always called her unsettling names, names he truly did not mean at the time but spoke out of pain and hostility. As his ears slowly turn and swivel to lay upon his skull in a saddened expression, a dull look of hope in his eyes as he looks to her. Already believing there was no hope in finding what did not want to be found.
