I found myself watching him, my dual colored eyes watching him carefully. Half Periwinkle-Half gold eyes paid close attention to the way he moved, the way his facial features reacted as I kept an eye on him. I found myself wondering if he had a place that he called a home, if he belonged anywhere. It was interesting to me, because I wondered just how a mute wolf would be accepted within a pack. See, I never had to deal with that when I was younger, I was a pup in the pack mom and daddy lived in, and then when I had gone exploring with dad, and he got killed, I never returned, for explaining the awful truth was just to much for me to bear. I didn’t even think that I would be able to explain it even now. The memory of it still haunted me.
I blinked rapidly, making the memories of that awful day blur in my mind until they were just a dull reminder. I wasn’t going to put myself through all of that all over again. No, there was no reason to think on the bad days-they were a part of the past I would not bring up ever again. I watched Reich, a smile on my face as I watched him as he fell into a play bow. A grin spread across my lips. Oooooh. He pounced towards me, then away, and I found myself laughing silently. I gave a mock bow, heading towards him in a playful pounce, my nose reaching out intending to touch him on the shoulder before I dashed off, looking over my shoulder. Yes, I was still young at heart and I was egging for a game of tag. The question really was, is he ready for one? |
