Fished last weekend. My brother and I cleaned 16 nice crappie, 10-12 in., Fri morning. Another 22 Sat. morning, also sent some home with my son and 15 more Sun. Caught all but maybe 10 of them at night. Also caught 3 Saugeyes at night as well. The schools of shad came to the lantern light and we caught the crappies then. Caught alot, maybe 40 - 50 nice bluegills during the day in the pads. Didn't clean any of them. Call me crazy, like the crappie meat better. i agree the daytime crappie bite is not as good this year, but try some night fishing! Replies:
