Grai returned the friendly gesture of the exchange of breath.

“The Pony King?” Grai laughed a little. “Yep. That would be him. Guess his reputation precedes him. Dogun’s a pretty cool guy. Let me move in and bring a lady home so can’t complain. Been a little down lately though.” Grai wasn’t sure how much of Inlet business was alright to share. This Kasabian seemed nice enough. He shook out his wet mane.

The buckskin king mentions that the nights are cool.

“Sounds a bit like Salem,” He said, relief in his voice. “I won’t be miserable then. Where’s the best place to hole up? Since… well… this is my first time out here.” He chuckled at that. He’d lived in the hellhole that was the Dunes. Then he’d bounced around on the Mainland and Crossing. Now he was keeping warm in Tinuvel. The complete opposite of his homeland.

The winds brought a mysteriously familiar scent about that time. He took a deep sniff. It was familiar but he couldn’t quite place it. But when Kasabian spoke, Grai’s ears tilted up. Sigrun. Sigrun…

“Honestly, the name sounds familiar,” Grai said. “But I spent a winter penned by wolves along the Inlet’s border with the Bay. A lot changed while I was up there. I didn’t get too familiar with Dogun’s mares. Well, other than his queen. And there’s a familiar smell…” He thought hard.

“Now that you mention it, I sorta remember smelling the Lagoon sometime last fall…” He shrugged. “Dogun’s lost a couple of mares lately. One in battle, one by theft. I think a few others have just been… quiet.” He looked at Kasabian. “That’s why he’s been down lately.”
