News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

Haven’s excitement at the prospect of the hunt elates me. I would never dream of pigeon-holing my younger sister into a specific role to fill in the pack, but I was glad she was eager to experiment in this. Maybe after the hunt she would decide that being a primary hunter for the pack wasn’t what she wanted to do. And that was perfectly fine with me. But there was more to this than going on the hunt and testing her ability to work as a unit to bring down prey. In the aftermath there would be a feast, and she would be given the opportunity to meet many wolves from other packs – Taviora, Asteraia, and maybe even some new faces from Diveen. Who could say if maybe such a large gathering of wolves would let her shine in another element – networking and public relations. But in the end none of that really mattered to me. What mattered to me most was that she enjoyed herself in all of it, and that we were given the opportunity to spend some time together. Much had been taken from us in the turmoil of her puphood, and one of those things was the chance for us to get to know each other better.

Her excited yip makes my tail wag even more so, and Taliesin’s jest about bringing something back for him elicits a light laugh from me. I then looked away from them for a moment, up at the moon, and a yawn suddenly bubbled to the surface. As I looked back to them, I noticed Haven echoing my yawn and that was when I suggested that we take a walk. All three of us fall into step side by side, slowly making our way back towards the den that Taliesin and Haven shared. Unfortunately it doesn’t take long to get there, and suddenly our time together has ended. But this was only tonight, and now there was the promise of more time to be spent in my sister’s company in the future.

My own banner waved back and forth behind me as my brother spoke of how we should do this more often. And he couldn’t possibly have been more right. “I couldn’t possibly agree more. We should make this a regular thing, the three of us hanging out.” I reached forward and gave Haven one last lick upon the forehead, a goodnight kiss for my youngest sibling. “I shall see you soon, sis.” I gave her a wink and then turned, moving away from the den even as Haven retreated within. She would probably be fast asleep before I was even able to tell Taliesin what I’d needed to speak with him about. But still, we moved away from the den’s entrance, ensuring a bit of privacy. This was important information, and I wasn’t sure how my brother would react.

You’ve done right by her, you know. Alcide and MoonGlow must be proud of you. I said as we walked away from the den, downhill to a small copse of pine trees. It was there that I stopped and looked over at Taliesin, my littermate in every figurative sense of the word. I loved all my siblings, older and younger, blood and adoptive, but Taliesin and I had a special bond. And it was that which forced me to reveal the information I had received from Natu to him. I could not possibly hope to keep it from him, nor did I wish to. “Some…interesting…news was brought to me. Four elder wolves have returned to Moladion, ones claiming old linage, from before the skyfall. Their names were revealed to me, and one of them is Fenrir.” My mahogany eyes were warm and steadfast, focused upon Taliesin in this moment. I did not know how he would take the news, or if he would even care, but I wanted him to know. I couldn’t let him just stumble upon the man who’d fathered him, even if he had no right to call himself a Father.

i have never been nothing.
