The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

It was a relaxing time in the presence of Vesper. To think that Aithne had been tense upon following the fair colored female into the caverns and planning to try and lure her back to Iromar as another convert. If anything had transpired during their time together it was the knowledge that Vesper was content in her home of Glorall and had inspired the same interest in Aithne to visit the sea land. Although she rather likes the things she already knows there is an itch in Aithne. She wants to know what she can about what is out there so she can never be blindsided. It would be a shame if a wolf she didn't like came sauntering up talking of some incredible fight with a seal when Aithne had no idea what a seal even looked like. How could she respond to such a question? It was much better learning these things and Vesper was a friendly teacher, and perhaps, friend.

A smile seems never far from her lips in the company of her new found buddy. Her eyes have adjusted accordingly to the darkness of the cave so that she can make out all the details of Vesper, made easier by the lighter color of her fur. It would not do to forget such a face of a friend; Aithne was a wolf a part. Separate from the world and held to higher standards in her own mind, and yet her loyalty is something as binding as the ocean and it's tides. Vesper has earned her friendship and with it a level of protection that she does not know about. It is a strange feeling for Aithne, this knowledge that she would fight on another's behalf for the sake of camaraderie.

A look of keen interest once more crosses her face, sweeping away her vacillating emotions on their friendship. All at the mere mention of a King and a whale. Aithne realizes how sorely lacking in information she is, her need to know more burning in her chest. "Describe a whale to me, Vesper. Why was a King in the ocean anyways?" Aithne's voice implies it was a crazy notion that a wolf would be swimming in the ocean away from the safe shoreline.

Now Aithne's look was one of pride. She is not an overly cocky creature but she is confident in her abilities and takes pleasure in being noted. A beauty she was not but a fighter she was. "It only takes practice and precision."
