There is No Honor in Tricks

_________________________________________________________________________

Something in the back of her mind told her that she should not be here, that she should not be talking to this brute. She had never had a good experience with the brutes in her past, unless you counted her brothers but that was different, that was family. What her mind was focused on was one particularly sadistic lupine that had tortured her for so long that he would always haunt her. He had been a lupine of power, even though he was barely older than she was, and he was power hungry and enjoyed watching others suffer under his reign. He had promised that her father would be safe in their pack, but then he forced Lady to watch her father get murdered. He had the lupines of his pack beat her and almost kill her on occasion, but she had finally escaped. Lady had escaped with Nymeria and gotten herself and her sister out of the terrible pack that would have been the death of both of them. And now, here she was, flirting with another male. When she knew what they were really like, what they were capable of, and that she should run far way while she still had the chance, before he turned out to be just like the last lupine she had given her heart to.

But surely Zorion was different. This unique looking brujo spoke softly and kindly to her. He did not hurt her or threaten her or tell her that she was useless and better off dead like she was used to. He made her feel beautiful and special, and wasn’t that what a mate was supposed to do? She shocked herself when that word came into her mind, why was she thinking that way? The petite femme was too young for a mate, and surely she would not think of someone in that way after their first meeting. But she knew her parents story and knew that it was love at first sight for them, and she remembered how kind and gentle her father was towards her mother. And Zorion was kind and gentle to her, so what did that make him? Didn’t that mean that he was a good lupine and not a cruel and evil one? Confusion swam through her mind, but then Zorion’s kind words were in her ear and his embrace was around her. At first she stiffened, frightened for a moment by what he might do, but then she gave up, sighed and leaned into his warm touch. Surely not every lupine was like the ones from her past, there had to be good males out there that could be kind to females, like her father, and Zorion seemed like a kind and caring brujo.

As their conversation continued she grew more and more comfortable with him, telling him things she had never told anyone, secrets and desires she had never dared to speak a loud. Thoughts of the future that she never thought could be possible, until now, until she met him. Fear slipped into her vocals when she thought of him trying to gallantly avenge the deaths of her parents and then her losing him. Embarrassed that she spoke her thoughts aloud, her gaze lowered to the ground. His paw came under her chin and lifted her yellow orbs to meet his, “Are you with me?” he asked and for a moment she was not sure what he was asking, but she knew whatever he meant her answer was yes. She wanted to be with. ”Yes, Zorion.” Two words that should be simple to say came out with difficulty, she had never had these thoughts and feelings with someone like him before and this was new and strange to the femme.

Lady’s worries about speaking her mind only increased as her words became more personal and honest, but her fears were put to ease with Zorion’s words. “Lady, my dear. That is what I was thinking, but I was imagining that I would never be the type that you would go for. You are so intelligent and independent and beautiful…” She smiled shyly, blushing under her gray fur, at his kinds words as he began to lead her to a group of reeds near the river. She instinctually followed him, letting his gentle pushes and nudges guide her, leaning into the soft touches he gave her. His words continued as he backed away from her for a moment, but she was sure he was not walking away and just focused on the lyrics that poured from his maw, “Look down, and see what is there for the two of us. This is the start of something new…” Instead Lady was completely taken aback by his next actions. As he spoke his next words he leapt upon her and she felt the pressure of his limbs and powerful muscles holding her in place. “… and the end of your terrored reign.” She did not hear any of the other words that came from him, just knew that he was speaking, but her mind could not process the words, could not understand their meaning. Fear paralyzed her for a moment and she could not move, could not fight, and could not run. When he entered her a new kind of pain occurred and she whimpered, never having experienced anything like the actions the brute was forcing upon her before. As he continued his thrusts her whimpers grew into cries and she cowered underneath him, waiting for it to be over.

When she heard a growl escape him she began to sob, shaking underneath him, trying, finally, to twist away from him, but it was already too late. She grew numb to the pain and went limp underneath him, Zorion’s tight hold of her limbs holding her up. When he finally finished his deed and moved off her she collapsed on the ground, not even trying to fight him or run away. Her mind told her that he was speaking again, but she didn’t process the words, didn’t care about what he had to say. Nothing he had to say mattered anymore. He had turned out to be like every other male she had encountered before, had turned out to be worse than any she had encountered before. He violated and abused her in ways that she did not know could happen. The brute’s form cradled hers and she began to shake with fear, afraid of what he was going to do to her, afraid of what was to come. His hold on her was still tight and she was afraid to try and move or push him away. After a few moments she felt his breathing even out and she knew he was asleep. Before he could wake up she shoved away from, running immediately to the trees, running as fast as she could before he could get her and hurt her again. There was no time for fear now, just instinct as she focused on weaving her slender form through the trees and to safety. So she would never have to see the brute that had betrayed her and hurt her again. So Lady never had to see anyone ever again.
