The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

LOST MY SOUL;
Take my love, take my land, take me where I cannot stand. I don't care, I'm still free; you can't take the sky from me. Take me out to the black, tell them I ain't comin' back. Burn the land and boil the sea; you can't take the sky from me. Leave the men where they lay, they'll never see another day. Lost my soul, lost my dream; you can't take the sky from me.
It was her small size that was her fortune. Her auburn marked bodice twisted away and without hesitation darted past him, leaping over the doe and disappearing down the other tunnel. To Reaver it did not come as much of a surprise. There had been no plan to his attack, no finesse in its execution. Neither predator makes to chase after the prey, however. Suddenly, for all of the doe’s entrails he’d consumed, he felt utterly starved. Teal eyes, striated with bright green, turn violently upon the snow white female as she made to sit before him. She had awoken his hunger, his appetite for lupine flesh. All he could think of was tearing into her stomach now, devouring her from the inside out as he’d done to the doe.

His body practically trembles with desire as he leans forward on his toes, the menacing growls dying back to a wanton snarl that only just curled his lip. But it is her words that silence him, that cease all vocalizations entirely. He had not spoken in such a long time, had not interacted with another wolf in such a way for many years. The life he’d led was that of utter isolation, seeking out other wolves only when he had hungered for their meat. Pupils that were so dilated in the darkness constricted as he narrowed his gaze upon her.

Want…” he hisses, the rumbles beginning once more, a guttural sound that was so primal. He steps towards her now, though it was not a threatening gesture. Instead his tail lifts dominantly and his blood spattered ears pricked forward, curious about her. He towers over her, his massive white and black and crimson form shadowing hers in every way. Though his lips curl up to expose his canines once more, he simply sniffs at her, legs rigid as he moves closer to her. Assuming she had stood up by this point, their fur mingled as he sniffed along her spine and down to her hindquarters, reveling in her scent.

After a moment, once he had inhaled her scent as deeply as possible, he withdrew so that they stood face to face. There is a light in his eyes that illuminates the darkness, and suddenly he wants nothing more than to run down a meal worthy of both of them, to kill with her and snuff out the life of a wolf of this bizarre world that so continuously messed with his mind.
