News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

i'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies;

She awoke with dawn, old habits dying hard from her life as a wanderer. It was engrained in her to wake at dawn before something else could wake and then find her asleep. It had been a life of constantly looking over her shoulder and wondering where the next night might find her, but it had been consistent and it is that one fact that almost makes her yearn for it still. She could never go back, not really. Meeting Neirin and then Ragnarok had bound her to this place and she knew that ultimately her penchant for wandering far had wide was gone, she would be left to simply wander Moladion for the rest of her days. Yet she wasn’t upset by the fact, which is almost the most surprising things of all. There was not real mourning for the loss of that life. It had been empty and lacking for much in the way of true joy or happiness. This life that was opening up for her provided so much more, even though it meant that she must soon decide.

She padded silently down the rocks, not entirely sure where she was headed since she had only been to the site of Ragnarok’s parents den at this point, but she followed her nose. The rain of last night had left the air crisp and clean if not someone chilly on the fall morning and as it tickled her nose she felt strangely alive amongst it all. She rounded one of the large rocks and found herself in a flat expanse of rock that dropped off suddenly as most of the area did, however filling the entire area were the last remnants of wildflowers, still clinging to the life that summer had given them. With the first rays of light cresting the horizon it gave a soft glow to the multitude of colors and as she walked through them, tickling her legs, a smile glimpsed across her foxlike face.

She stopped at the precipice of the cliff, flowers strewn all about her as the suns rays continued to lighten the sky, driving off the dark of night and illuminating it with hints of pink and orange. The precipice gave her a perfect view over most of Moladion, the rolling fog that covered the lower lands creeping along. It was easy to imagine she was on top of the world here. Closer to the base of the mountains he could spot slight movement among the cluster of dens, not doubt the mountain pack waking finally and beginning their days. The thoughts that had filled her in Asteraia returned, the idea of being a part of something larger than herself and having a pack to rely on prickling at the back of her mind. It was something she had never given thought to before, but then again she had never had the opportunity. She couldn’t image swearing fealty to someone who would seek to control or bind her, but she could perhaps dedicate herself to helping others as they might help her.

A shudder ran through her as thoughts of her parents and their pack came back to her, their mindless dedication to a cause that most likely killed them all in the end and would have claimed her too. It contributed to her rather odd naming but also to the fact that she had never had a family to call her own before. She sighed, the breath materializing into a faint vapor on the air as the wind whipped up over the rocks briefly, ruffling her tawny coat. She sat, wrapping her dark-tipped tail around her feet for warmth as she watched the world wake.
