There was just too much that Cersei wanted to talk about - so many places to show her sister, so many things to tell her and talk about. Like, she had to show her the grotto and the far side of the island where the sea stretched out even more endlessly than they'd ever know. She had to show her sister the best places to find the best food and how if you crawled through the darkness of the caves in the free lands for long enough, you could find a sliver of light that reached down and glittered upon some strange underground lake. She needed to introduce her to Sinclair properly and even all the others she had met; she had to tell her, too, about how Viora was so cruel with that boy, Magnus, and yet she wanted to somehow make knowing them work. There was so much but for once, Cersei was glad to let time be about somebody else. Cersei had always been an excited girl and yet she'd never seen herself as selfish. As far as she was concerned, Octavia didn't just deserve all the time they had but she deserved so much more than even that. Initially, what her sister said stung her, her ears fluttering ever so slightly but she forced a smile forward, pushing through that brief stab of pain. It had never occurred to her that her sister might have intended to go away forever and it made her think suddenly of Maradona and her mother, wherever they might have gone. Did they intend to come back? Or had they gone for good? At least, she had to think, she had one sister here with her now. What could she do, though, to make her stay? Was it selfish to want that? The answer came as soon as her sister began to laugh, and Cersei found herself smiling along - no, it was selfish. What mattered is that Octavia was here now and that she was happy. Who was Cersei to deny that happiness? It might have made her sad, sure, but she had to put her family's happiness first. She could manage that, at least, and so she laughed along with Octavia, her tail waving as she leaned in closer with an inquisitive stare. Spill the beans - all of them! "Well, if that's the case, maybe we'll have to go scratch a little deeper together next time, huh?" It was a sincere offer and the glisten in Cersei's eyes let her sister know that - if she ever had to leave again, then Cersei at least wanted the chance to see some of what her sister had seen. She never wanted a rift to form between them full of uncertainty. Next time, she wanted it to be peaceful. She wanted it to be full of good feelings knowing that her sister had gone away to fulfill her own needs and not just... for who knows what reason. That had always been what had made Cersei unsure of things; she had woken up one day and she was gone. There was no blood, no struggle and yet, everybody had to pretend like it didn't tear apart a fragment of themselves. Had Maradona felt like that, too? "For now, though, you've missed out on heaps here, sister. Like, did you know we had a big earth shake here? Now there's a big cave that goes deep into the ground. You can never find the end - some say the end doesn't even exist!" She flashed her a playful grin, a cocked brow arching over her eyes as she toyed with the idea of taking her big sister there. Maybe they could take Vesper and Praetor too! They could make it an outing. Sinclair could lead the way. It'd be fun - it'd be their own little family.
