Rufina
Filly - Mutt - Black splash [Ee aa nSpl nPATN2] - 15.3hh

Sicily was glad she didn't have to give birth with snow still gracing the lands. The prairie was full of life, and the tall yellow grass was everywhere. The land seemed to go on forever and the grullo women enjoyed standing atop the hills to look out in the distance. This is what she did when she wished to avoid Valentine and the other lady who also graced these lands. Eventually Sicily would have to stop hiding, but she had her own things to figure out; like their child.

She had always hated the thought of children, having not had a great childhood herself, thinking she would be the worst mother. Fiero had turned out alright though, and became her greatest love; a feeling that was so foreign to her. Sicily hadn't felt that way for Rade, the boy's father. Their breeding was more of a convenience and her lack of control. There were lustful feelings, but no love. She hoped she'd feel the same way for this second child of hers that had came during the night. Sicily had left the tiny group to have the child, and was only just returning.

Being so lost in her thinking Sicily almost runs over the little filly who had sunk into the grass in front of her mother, completely exhausted with how much walking they'd been doing this morning. Sicily didn't realize how far she had wandered away. Stopping, she reaches down the brush her nose along the girl's black back and then over to her white belly. Her daughter had an unusual paint pattern, as if someone had dipped only half her body in white and the other side in black. Regardless she had her mother's love and attention.

"Come Rufina," Sicily croons, nudging at the filly again. The girl huffs but makes no effort to get up. Shaking her head Sicily looks up, wondering where they were until she catches Val's scent. They weren't too far off then. She calls out to her stallion, before going to her daughter's side and taking on a protective stance. Her ears stood tall and alert for danger, not willing to let anything harm her little gal.
