Isolde’s chin tilted only lightly as she watched her brother lower his rear to the ground. It was as normal an action as anything else, but, in the Asteraia royal family, it wasn't as simple of a gesture when concerning Viserys. The girl had never questioned her mother too far on the subject, but it was common knowledge to them that Vis suffered a condition which rendered his hind quarters weak at times – often rather randomly. Rhea had told her to be wary of such a thing happening, or else she might accidentally hurt her smaller, less fortunate brother. Isolde certainly didn’t wish any ill on her brother, and so she had always kept a cautious eye on the fragile nature of her brother’s health. Perhaps that was why she was not as close with Viserys as Aurai, as Isolde was far more physically reserved with him. But she could not help her nature as a protector, as an aspiring knight, and as her father’s daughter.
Her brother’s proclamation on their father brought a charming, rather sweet grin to the girl’s face, and her tail gave an appreciative wave in the air. There were those who thought her habit of daydreaming to be careless or naïve, but Isolde could not help but disagree. Dreams, in her opinion, were the essence of hope and greatness. If you could dream it, you could live it. Some dreams just took a little more time than others to fully manifest.
“Mmn, yes,” she said with a nod of agreement. “But Daddy isn’t so vain. He’s a proper king, and he will let the Ice King’s men have their glory, too.” It was quite clear just how much of the girl’s world was influenced by her father.
The mottled red girl tilted her head at her brother’s answer, a rather fond expression in her warm, brown and teal eyes. Closing the distance between them with a few dancing steps, Isolde lowered her hind quarters to sit before Viserys and leaned in to press the top of her head and muzzle into the side of his neck, just behind his left ear. “The sky is never lonely, Vis,” she said softly, maintaining the contact as she spoke. “Even when there are no clouds or stars, it has us to keep it company. I don’t think anyone is ever truly alone.”
She dragged her face gently against the side of his, then, in a strange, partial sort of nuzzle, giving him a playful, loving lick across his nose when she reached the tip of his muzzle. She rested back onto her rear end again, tail sweeping the grass in a steady wag behind her. It was growing ever darker with the sun long over the western horizon, but she wasn’t in any rush to head back to the den just yet. After all, they were safe in their hills of Asteraia – and these times where it was her and Viserys alone were as rare, if not more so, than those she had to herself.
