The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

REGINLEIF

When Reginleif had sent out the call for a little friendly duel between the sisters, she had gotten very little response. She had expected as much, but was disappointed by the lack of fire in anyone’s belly. At the very least, the black mare named Inka had stepped forward as well as a couple of the fillies – you know what they say, our futures rest on the young and at least they showed some drive. The grey mare had fully intended to take on Inka herself until she had spied her sister Áshildr drifting around the mountain.

The bay mare had not been engaging so perhaps this would be just what she needed, not that Reginleif really cared despite the blood they shared. The draft looked fearsome enough with all her scars and torn and missing flesh but she was not much of a fighter; just as Inka claimed not to much of one either. The two were relatively evenly matched – similar in build though had Áshildr lacked in height, she made up for in girth.

Reginleif, despite being the smaller and slimmer mare had practically bullied her sister into agreeing to the friendly spar. They walked now, side by side beneath the gentle warmth of the morning sun. Reginleif scanned the area for a sign of Inka while Áshildr slunk forward nervously. Despite her numerous scars and the missing flesh, she was no fighter. She couldn’t deny the adrenaline was kind of a rush at the time but at the end of the day it made her feel a little ill. That aside however, she could probably do with a learning a few extra tricks to protect herself.

The pair found Inka on a relatively flat stretch of the mountain, lucky as it meant they would not need to seek out better ground. A few loose pebbles shifted beneath hooves as they walked but nothing too dangerous. Reginleif nicked a greeting to the black mare, ”I have found you a willing opponent in Áshildr here” she informed her with a sly smile. The bay mare bobbed her head extended her muzzle to greet the black. Reginleif watched the pair a moment ”Are you ready for a friendly spar?
