News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

OH, BROTHER, I WILL HEAR YOUR CALL.

the song was on he knew by heart, often singing smaller snippets that were more detailed in the telling, but of the same story nonetheless. Like short story’s about a novel, he was a memory unlike any of the other of the four - save for perhaps fenrir when he would put his mind to that rather than discerning the present.

and where fenrir might remember the song, he was not a writer of it. he was no poet, for all that syntax had him speak in the old flowery way and the way of nanruans.

his voice reached his audience, though, and when he is done and laid on the earth, he notes the same cinnamon boy that was told of in the story, only bigger - much moreso than fenrir had let on when he returned from the circumstance that put him in the line of his son’s family’s fire. fenrir was more uncomfortable in the spotlight than his actions often spoke, though that was mostly due to his refusing to back down from a trial he could suffer through. silly man didn’t know when to just say uncle, truly.

seamus was comfortable in the spotlight in a different way - his being because he could always melt back into the shadows again. he could be one in a million or one out of a million. extraordinary or utterly plain. it was his talent, and for now he rests somewhere in between as taliesin approaches with a look of such a generic expression that seamus was not sure if he had been the boy’s father rather than fenrir. he heard of fenrir’s bard-son, though now that he saw it, the general curt formality seemed so much more like fenrir than he could even jest at the prior notion.

he would not tease a boy with so much of his father plastered on his face.
fenrir would have been proud, hah.

“I will admit you have a fine singing voice, Sir.”
“a bard is pleased to find another bard taking pleasure in his work.”

there is something slippery in the statement, but it is mostly the slipperiness of a male who is used to being the pot-licker among much larger and more ornery wolves than even taliesin could boast.

he keeps himself lowered, comfortable despite himself on the earth, and yet his tail sweeps once in a hesitant sign of friendliness. whatever fenrir thought, whatever taliesin thought, he was ill-made if he was expected to dislike a person on account of breeding or association. seamus was the chameleon and would always be so.

“You are… Seamus? If I remember what my sister said correctly upon your descriptions, Natu had told her of all of your names and your arrivals here upon Moladion.”

seamus, of course, grinned. it was his namesake, even if this one was not the sly one of a cheshire cat as his namesake would suggest. not all grins were of shadowy natures.

“quite right. and you are taliesin. my brother speaks sparingly, but i would know you by your mother’s telling in any case.” a small thump of his tail and his head lifts from the floor. “i thought since your… humm, sire would be the best term… sire is such a dolt and can’t seem to deal properly with things he has made a muck of - i, in my nosey nature, felt compelled to at least give you the song of your origins being that you remain as the only proof of the trials and love of two people in whom i invested much of my life living beside. call it an old coot’s whimsy… old folk rarely do things that make life simpler for you youngin’s but there you are.”

some part of his voice and face was apologetic, but the other portion was simply cordial time-passing conversating. he kept himself relaxed on the earth, well beneath any kind of challenge or insult, pink eyes always seeming to remain just this side or that side of direct eye contact. another small thump and sweep of his tail and he offered a small mouth-parted, tongue fore-lolled, grin.
