The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

A few mintues had passed, and I had fought as long as I could against the sleep that was weighing heavy on my mind. I couldn’t fight it anymore as my eyelids grew heavy, my weight pressing into the caverns wall more, my head leaning to lay up against the wall as well.

I didn’t hear him, nor did I smell him. Thus, when his teeth nipped at my leg, I sprung awake, my head spinning in circles from the quick jerky movement. I opened my mouth, a motion to yelp or bark at the man, whilst no sound came out of my vocals. Oh how I wished I had a voice at this very moment. I found myself backing away from him. My leg stung, and all I felt was fear and anger at the man who thought he could so rudely wake me up that way. I didn’t understand it, why he was invading my personal space. But then I looked at his face, and I saw the look that was on it. And it was then that the fear overcame the anger. And I ran.

I spun away quickly, running as fast as my legs could carry me, going further and further away from him, but I heard the sound of him running behind me. And it was then I found myself at a dead end. There were no other ways to escape, I was stuck in this cave with him closing in behind me-Fast. Panic struck dead and fast, my heart racing. I found myself unable to stay still, my body weight shifting back and forth, my eyes darting to the end of the tunnel, knowing I would see him in a matter of seconds. What was he going to do to me?!
