More divisions at city for 2015 xc IP: 126.96.36.199 Posted on December 3, 2014 at 01:32:24 PM by monroerocks
I did a little research and found this out;
L.A city ran 3 divisions this year and sent a total of 4 boy teams and 4 girl teams plus ind. to the state meet. L.A city had a total of 93 teams combined with all league meets compete and had the top 3 teams advance to prelims with some at large. We advanced 2 teams per gender in D1 and one team per gender in D2 and D3 plus ind. to state.
Central section had 83 teams compete in their league meet and section final. They ran 5 divisions at their section final and advanced a total of 9 boy teams and 9 girl teams plus ind. to the state meet. They sent 2 teams per gender in D1, D2, D3, D4 and one in D5 plus Ind.
San Diego section had 93 teams compete in their league finals(just like L.A city) and section final. They ran 5 divisions at their section final and advanced a total of 15 boy teams and 15 girl teams plus individuals to the state meet. They sent 2 teams per gender in D1, 4 in D2, 3 in D3, D4 and D5 plus ind.
Can we somehow level the playing field? So maybe we should run 4 divisions at City and not 3 and advance a little more teams and Ind. just like San Diego and Central section. We have the same amount of schools as San Diego. Im not saying sending 15 teams per gender either. We should run D1, D2, D3 and small schools D4 and advance 2 teams per gender in D1, 1 in D2, D3 and D4.
