It was only then when I noticed the other brute had stopped so suddenly from moving the elk, and that's when I felt it. That's when it finally occurred to me and it hit me like a brick. I had just imprinted. Something I wasn't expecting of course, but when the male ran after his blinded soul I'd come to realization of why I felt a bit... Off. She is here, and she is hidden within the crowd.
Screw the damned elk, I need to find her. Golden rimmed pools scan the crowd once more, waiting for them to stop upon the one my heart so suddenly longed for. Leaving the waters, slowly my large form pushes through the crowd of wolves frantically looking for the girl who awaits.
Finally my eyes catch her, her small black and red outlined frame standing out above the snow. My heart beat that was once pounding furiously now slows, everything slows, including time. My ember golden rimmed eyes attempt to catch her gaze as I continue to stalk forward, my stomach a flutter, my paws light even with my heavy weight atop them. I want her to rush to me, to shove through the gathering of wolves just to be at my heart's aid. And once I've approached her fully, time suddenly freezes, like the ice beneath my paws. All of a sudden I see nothing but her, my little fear, as a good dream.
I stand there silently, staring down upon the female, my breath blowing steam with the cool air. I find it hard to speak, but somehow the words roll off of my tongue like melting butter.
"Hi... I'mNakoda."
