She hid among the shrubbery, her black and white coat doing well to camouflage her against the shadows and snow. Her target a snowshoe hare. The little white rodent was barely visible against the white background. She takes another step forward, but the ice under the snow snapped. The hare immediately darted off towards river with her in hot pursuit. It ran down the snow covered bank on to the thick ice that now covered the river, not wasting her steps she jump down from the bank. Her nails scraped against the ice as she continued after her prey. The hare on the other hand, was already a few feet from the bank on the other side. She lunges right as her prey starts up the opposing bank, but before her teeth could find it, it darts to the left. She ends up with a face-full of snow instead of her target. She pulled herself out of the snow bank, giggling at how ridiculous she must have looked. She shook off the snow that was decided to settle itself on her muzzle, playfully snapping at the air. Still giggling as she struggled to stand, eventually successful in getting all four paws beneath her. Then she rushed forth still on the thick ice, pouncing spraying snow that was resting on it.
