In 2013, Dead Heat and the town of Eighty Four entered into its seventh year with high profit margins, a record number of horses, and a new sense of belonging in this busy world. Gone are the days of good ole Eighty Four the farming town. To keep up with demand from the non-racing horse industry, Eighty Four opened its state-of-the-art show park this year. Now warmbloods are starting to pop up in the fields adjacent to thoroughbreds. Ex-racehorses are finding new careers and the residents of Eighty Four now have more to do on weekends beside standing rail side to watch races. With more people calling Eighty Four home than ever before, the social drama has done nothing but expand. Love and lasting bonds are forming, hearts are breaking, careers are starting, and reputations are destructing. With youth and the chance of making the big bucks, the track is not without the issues of illegal activity. Not everyone is around for the love of horses and sportsmanship.
I want to walk around on two legs!
Step into the boots of a stable owner, trainer, or jockey.
What if I don’t know anything about horse racing?
Not a problem! A racetrack is only part of the setting of the game and it is not vital to know anything about horse racing to play. In fact, many characters have absolutely nothing to do with the equine industry. The town itself is a bigger part of the game.
Galloping and eating hay are more my thing.
Nail on a set of aluminum shoes and get ready to hit the track!
I don’t really want to run around in a constant circle to the left.
Not all horses in the game are racehorses. Some show, some breed, and some are pasture pets.
There is something for everyone at Dead Heat.
