Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

When she spoke, he was almost taken aback. He'd almost forgotten how long had actually passed - her words were heavy with a certain kind of maturity. It made him pause in his step for a moment, smiling down on her ever so quietly before continuing on. In a way, she was much like Cersei although their energies were focused on terribly different things. Cersei had a physical energy, one that never seemed to tire and yet Octavia's seemed emotional, mental he supposed. It took that certain kind of energy to roam so often and so far. He had expanded all his own wildness after the meteor when he and Caligula had roamed for two years straight. It had been their pilgrimage - he had to wonder, had they gotten as far as she had? It had been years since then but he still remembered the fluctuation of emotions that came with such a lifestyle: uncertainty, confidence, recklessness and caution. His daughter had done so well to survive so many changes for so long, and from so young.

"It seems like you have learnt a lot out there."

He mused out loud to himself, staring up ahead for a moment as he watched their path dig closer and closer to the dunes and sparse tall grass. It was still strange to have her able to keep up so well compared to the days when her legs had been but short, stumpy extensions onto a round body. Time had flown, he supposed, and yet not without both of them enduring a rampant change of existence. His had progressed down, perhaps, a more violent path where he had been called to battle some eight or so times - many simply came to test his skill and yet, some had come to test his resolve. Octavia, on the other hand, hardly seemed to be a torn apart mess. He was glad for that for even a father long since separated still desired the head of any who dared to touch their daughter. Sinclair had been lucky so far, at least.

"When you have nothing, it only means you can earn and receive things. It's when you have it all that things become... heavy. Remember what you've learned, Octavia. Those are lessons many need to know and you can teach them if you so choose."

She'd make a good teacher, he had decided. Of all the wolves in Glorall, perhaps she had the most valuable knowledge right now. Did she know that? He hoped so and if not, the tilt of his brow as he swung to face her with a taut grin might have said it all. He meant it and he hoped she listened, even if she was busy grinning ear to ear.

"Did you see Maradona somewhere out there? She left some time ago. I suppose adventure runs in the blood somewhere."

He inquired softly, an ear twisting towards his daughter as they began up one of the many slack inclines within Glorall, the dirt intermingling with sand as his paws sunk through. Soon, they'd come to the sea and perhaps then they'd be able to bask a little.
